Morning Missy, I'm coming to the end of my night shift and my worrying is always at it's peak at night time! ha.
We got a moses basket from Asda as it was only £25 so have you thought of there, if you don't want to soend a lto, then I got the rocking stand from argos. I haven't bothered buying a cot yet seeing as we aren't in the house and the baby will be in our room anyway, I have bought a crib for upstairs.
We got this one but there are nicer/dearer ones too

Has everyone been having the whooping cough jab? The midwife said I should book it with my GP if I want it. Hadn't really thought about whether I want it or not and wad just going to go for it!0

Yeah I had it at 28 weeks, no problems with it.0

Oooh lovely dippy! Didn't even think of there! Will look.
Yes I have had the jab yumyums, I thought it best as whooping cough was doing the rounds when I had it.
ETA: grrrr really cross, from your idea of looking at Asda for baskets dippy, I thought I'd look at tesco, as we have club card vouchers, but every single thing I click on is 'currently unavailable' I'm hoping it's just a website issue as there are loads of nice ones on there!0 -
Wow, you and your OH seem to have been through the mill lately, SplanK. Fingers crossed it all turns out OK. I'm pretty sure some of Pigpen's children arrived around the 35 week mark and without too many problems. I'm sure she'll be along shortly and can tell you what to expect if baby does need to make an appearance in the next few days.
Missy, have you looked on the kiddicare website for a moses basket mattress? They usually have different sizes. You also shouldn't carry them by the handles as they aren't designed to carry the weight of the baby, so it doesn't really matter that the handles are fraying on the one you have.
It reminds me though, I need to check the mattress with our moses basket. We borrowed it from SIL when we had DS and got a new mattress. Then she had it back for youngest niece, and now we have it again. We've got a crib for upstairs this time as DS outgrew the moses basket at about 8 weeks old, so the moses basket is just for downstairs for the first few weeks. I need to get the covers washed though, as it's been in the garage for the last few months (wrapped up, but I still want to get them washed).
It's understandable to panic about the labour, dippy. Yes it hurts, but to be honest, your body takes over and you just have to go with it. And if you're in the hospital, they have lots of drugs if you need them. I am a complete wuss normally and managed to squeeze out a 9lb 4oz baby who was back to back, refused to turn and came out staring up at me! All this in the pool with gas and air. (I definitely recommend the pool, if anyone's thinking about it, I was surprised at just how much it reduced the pain when I got in.)
Oh, and you won't need baby gates til baby starts to move around on their own, which won't be for a few months.
I understand the not feeling prepared and worrying that baby will be early though. I feel slightly better now that I have a box full of freshly washed newborn and 0-3 clothes. However the moses basket is in the garage along with the car seat - both of which need covers washing, but I have nowhere to put them once they are clean. DS should be moving into his new bedroom on Saturday, so I'll finally have the nursery free to start getting things ready.
I had the whooping cough jab at 28 weeks yumyums. It made my arm hurt, which seems to be a common thing. It felt quite bruised for a couple of days; wasn't painful to move by arm as such, but I couldn't sleep on that side. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. Oh SplanK, am sure you're worried out of your mind right now - I have to say I think sometimes these things are easier on the mother because its all a bit out of our hands but dads are looking at their families and stressing and there is nothing you can do at all. I remember DH saying how useless he felt when I was rushed off to theatre for eldest but just knowing he was there holding my hand helped me so much more than he realised. Hope everything is ok with baby and the three of you are all home soon xx
LOL - Dippydooda, I wouldn't be worrying about baby gates for a long while yet! How long do you think it'll be before you can move into the new house? I have to get DH to go up into the attic to get out all the baby stuff to see what we have as people have started asking what we need, all I can think is that I have nothing blue! We still have moses basket, cot and all the big stuff. In laws have offered to buy our new pram, the travel system we got for the girls is way too big for our car now so we've picked one from Mothercare.
As for delivery room, my mum will not be there with me - I know with the girls I just didn't want anyone near me, DH held my hand but that was it. I do not want an audience watching me (with youngest I had a midwife, student and a sister and that was more than enough) If she asks again I'll tell her that it just isn't for me, I'd be much happier knowing she was at home with girls. If nothing else this time I'm going to be induced which is a first for me - I don't know how long it's going to take and we could be in there for a while.
I'll have to get my Whooping Cough vaccination booked as I'm 28 weeks on Monday (although not sure when I'll actually be able to get it done as I'm busy all next week!)Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
Morning ladies
I had my whooping cough jab at 31 weeks and no problems there at all.
Feeling rather swollen all over recently, I have the midwife in a hour so will mention to her about it because it has come with a 9lb weight gain in 2 weeks which cant be right.
37 weeks now and cant wait to meet our little girl.

Good morning all. Hope everyone is ok. Splank, it sounds like you and OH have been through a lot. I expect you are really looking forward to meeting your baby now.
AFM, no sign of anything happening yet. I don't even feel pregnant any more, other than having the equivalent of a moving football strapped to my stomach. Should I be worried that my breasts aren't even leaking? I'm not sure. X0 -
Missymoo - a lot of Mothercare moses baskets are reduced in their sale at the moment. And if you download the mothercare app you get a voucher for £10 off when you spend £50.0

Clarets, my boobs never leaked before I had DS, so I don't think it's anything to worry about. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0
