I'm sat in the garden with my big fat ugly swollen feet dunked in a paddling pool, anyone else's feet the size of balloons?

Me too. I'm sure people will think I'm exaggerating, but when I was pregnant with my DD, I became totally addicted to Ice-cream Mars. My DH would buy a dozen of the family size boxes at a time when they were on offer, and I had at least four a day for the last 2 months of pregnancy. It was a miracle I wasn't the size of a bus! I was also a bit mad on Coco Pops.

I'm trying to be a bit more restrained this time as I was very slim when I got pregnant last time, but this time I hadn't lost all of the pregnancy weight, so can't afford to gain as much.

I wish. I'm stuck in the office and it's about 17 degrees and rainy in Northern Ireland. It didn't stop raining the whole day yesterday.

morocha - good on you for getting 2 weeks alone with baby - i would never manage this. i think its going to be difficult just to get a night lol - my sis and mum are already asking me if i am having any signs (which i am not 39+1 today)

moneypuddle - i hope to go back to work for only 3 days as a secretary, then work as a nutritional therapist some evenings when OH can look after baby. my mum has agreed to look after baby for two days (she looked after my sisters childrens for 3 days a week) we will then ask MIL if she could do a day or half a day and the rest of the time will be in a nursey - so only 1 day max in a nursery. i do plan to take a year off for mat leave so havent started to look into nurseys yet. although i know they range from about £38 to £40 per day in my area.

rjh/chrissy - cant believe you ladies are getting all these symptoms. i havent even had a braxton hicks and i am due in 6 days!

ok so i saw my midwife today at 39+1 weeks, everything is fine, baby is only 4/5 engaged. i was quite shocked when she said we will book you in for your sweep on tuesday next week (i would be 40+1) i of course said i didnt want it, i am happy to go to 42 weeks without any intervention. i dont know what the obsession with getting babies out so early is:o i actually feel less tired and in less pain now then i did in the middle of my pregnancy.

    well wishes to everyone,

    Laura

I'm back! Got everything on my list so can pack my hospital bag tomorrow (too tired to do it today). Also washed all the little baby things and the last load is drying on the line. Went Tesco and spent way too much money but the freezer is now full...

It was really tiring and hot and I was so achey but it's done now. My mum was a star helping me with everything. Tomorrow I will clean the baby's room and our bedroom and then I'll be well on track!
