Thanks Savage, but I need to buy the actual dryer as well as have only got a washing line at the moment! I like the rotaire dryline one - they have got really good reviews! I just can't afford to get it at the mo' have spent thousands in the last three weeks on getting the house sorted so a little bit skint right now! Well, I could use savings but I am trying very hard to to touch those at all! Your neighbours cat sounds very playful although I am pleased to hear that the birds got away!0

Rups as others have said, stay away from the dopplers! I have one but I haven't used it in this pregnancy as my DH didn't want me too as he thought I'd stress if I couldn't find the heartbeat. He was right I know I would have and I found out at my anomoly scan that I have an anterior placenta so I probably would have found it difficult to hear the heartbeat.
I know you will find it impossible not to worry, every woman worries during pregnancy, it's only natural. Pregnancy after a loss is filled with even more worries so I don't think you can expect yourself not to be stressed or worried but you really need to try and manage those fears for your sake and that of your baby. Try as best you can to enjoy this pregnancy otherwise you will look back and regret not doing so. Worrying isn't going to change the outcome.
You've been and had the pains checked out and the doctors weren't concerned. As others have said, you will get all sorts of niggles. I have period type pains almost daily until about 25 weeks and I still get them now. Also now I get pain from the pgp and also from where baby thinks he has to wedge his bum under my ribsI've had pains just about everywhere on my body and you probably will too, as there are so many changes going on.
No one is expecting you not to worry, and I know the stage between dating scan and anomoly scan is very trying because you don't yet feel much if anything from baby but you need to try and focus your mind on something else rather than all the little niggles that are a normal part of being pregnant.

thanks embset and yes you hit the point there, where you said following a loss, it is more worrying. to be honest, i havent been that bad (ok on here i express stuff) because i know i can get advise and that calms me right down. trust me i am not lying. i know i will come back after a few days and ask about pain, as like with you all, all sorts of pain etc is so new. i will enjoy it for sure. i still get tired and sicky feeling but once i get the energy back (well people keep saying we do get it back) i will really look forward to preparing things. right now am too tired.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Hi all. Had 20w scan today and all well. We didn't ask the colour. Baby was in a really funny position and had their foot up against their cheek.
The sonographer tried their best to get some good pics and did out 4, but they were all a bit of a jumble. We don't pay for scan pictures in my hospital, though so no big deal and we got 4 great ones when we had a scan at 15 weeks.
To those who were talking about cotton wool and water. I had bought loads of cotton wool with our DD (first baby) and lasted 2 days before using Pampers Sensitive wipes. It was such a pain using water & cotton wool. She has never had nappy rash and is 20 months old. I used Pampers Sensitive for about 3 months and have used Huggies Pure since then. I much prefer the texture and moisture of the Huggies Pure to Pampers, Johnsons or tesco wipes.0 -
Happy V day, littlemoog!
Rups, please, please, please don't get a doppler. Honestly. For all our sanity
Seriously though, I'm not sure it'll help you, especially as the MW has had problems finding the hb with a medical grade one.
It is hard in that 'limbo' period between the dating scan and anomoly scan - you've been told that everything's going fine, but you don't feel ill anymore and you can't feel the baby move yet. It will get better, honestly! I felt wriggler move from about 16 or 17 weeks, but I've got a posterior placenta - and as we saw at both our scans, she is full of beans and moves a lot.
If you want to see if you can feel baby moving, I'd suggest sitting quietly on the sofa with your knees up towards your chest and having a cold drink of some variety - coke or fanta. It will feel like butterfly flutters to start with; I described it to my mum as like I had mice running around in my tummy (which she told me was disgusting!). I get loads of movement now, and DH has felt her a few times when he's just had his hand on my stomach.
Cake, I feel your pain. I was very distressed a for a couple of seconds when I saw a bit of blood when I wiped a couple of days ago... then realised it was from the 'wrong' area to be worrying, and it was 'just' piles. And then I had a meltdown because I'm only 22 weeks and it's not fair because it's only likely to get worse!
Childcare wise, we're hoping that our families will do 1 day a week each, so we only have to fund 3 days - but we're in outer London, so it's going to be about £50 a day for us. It's a bit of a pain, but we can't afford for me to stay off work (and to be honest, I want to come back). We have a childcare voucher scheme where we work though which will save us a bit of money.0
