Re: movement-again also meant to say it was weeks later until OH could feel baby move. Kicks were feeling quite strong to me but he couldn't feel a thing.
Baby weight I'm sitting here with the website that you gave me [BIkkle[/B] looking for the BPD measurement but it's nowhere on this paper so I was getting sad. Anyways it has the estimated weight on the paper. They think he weights 2020g already! Which is 4.45lbs at just under 33 weeks
Cakes it may be worth taking regular laxatives or asking for another iron preparation. If you need the iron you should really take it in some form. Dried fruits, fresh fruit and high fibre cereals should help. Also vitamin C helps absorption of iron so like sm said taking with a glass of juice would be good for both. Good luck for the dentist.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Re the childcare issue - i've already got bubba on a list for a nursery place. Was told that getting places is really difficult so looked into this after the 20 week scan, also the nursery is 5 mins walk away from home so was keen for this particular place. It only opened in Jan but seems lovely. Living in London we have to pay a lot more for childcare. Looking at £50-£60 per day. Initial plan was to put bubba in there for 4 days a week (as i am hoping to rearrange my hours to work 4 days a week) but hubby has now said that he would like to see if he can also work 1 day at home and look after bubba one of the other days, so hopefully if both of the plans work out we'll only need nursery for 3 days a week. We only got him on one list as each list costs £25 (seems std practice) so if we dont get him in there we'll probably have to do childminder until the nursery place becomes available. Pinkies crossed we wont have that problem!
Well I'm back! I got poked for the membrane sweep which was rather uncomfortable, but midwife said cervix only just starting to open so she couldn't get in there properly. Baby not ready to engage. So I'm going to have another membrane sweep in hospital on Saturday, midwife is going to ring me tonight with the appointment. So Clarissa my husband will be there anyway to take me to the appointment. But he didn't actually come in with me when they did it today – he waited in the waiting area.
Also I said baby movements have reduced (although I assumed this was normal) but midwife has got me an appointment for a check of baby movements in the hospital this afternoon at 2.45pm just in case. They'll also take my blood pressure and check urine again I think. She is sending off my urine as she thinks I might have an infection. But anyway that's pretty reassuring. I also managed to get an appointment with the midwife for next Tues just for the usual blood pressure and baby heartbeat check. Finally I think the midwife is going to book me in for an induction just in case around 40+12 as they don't like it to go longer than 12 days past due date, so she said.
Clarissa and Robyn I hope you get sorted with these appointments too if your babies don't make an appearance.
Re. childcare, I looked into it locally and there is a good place which will take babies from 3 months+ but it's £46 a day or £25 for a half day, plus the minimum you can book them in is for 2 half days, but we probably only need 1 day which isn't enough, apparently it has to be two days (even if half days). Not really sure why. So we'll probably have to book baby in for 1 1/2 days from when he's about 9 months old, if I go back to work then. I've put him on the waiting list. There aren't too many options round here though because it's rural. A lot of places won't take small children til they're about 2 1/2.0 -

I don't think I could find BPD either but I looked at all the other measurements. 4lb 7oz at 33 weeks is a good weight though
I can't wait till my next scan in 4 weeks to find out how much he's grownx
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Just popping in to say hi again. Have been moving house and moving offices at work so have only had my phone’s internet for the last few days (until I ran out of data allowance).
So happy with yesterday’s scan. Can’t believe how much we saw. Think hubby’s dead chuffed to be having a son – the grin on his face was brilliant. Only manage to get one picas the usual payment machine was out of order and the other only took coins so had enough for one (didn’t see the hospital shop to get change until we were leaving
). His leg in the pic looks like something totally inappropriate
– We daren’t put it online, might have to save it for his 18th/21st
Hope everyone’s well. Congrats to those who completed the journey recently and many best wishes to those who are nearly there or need them.

Lol, love the way this thread moves - it's just taken me my whole lunchhour to catch up from where I last left off!
Clarissa PM me and I will send you the email with the cheeky wipes code - that's goes for anyone else that would like the info too!
Now I know it was a few pages back but there were some posts about washing, drying and ironing! I've washed the second hand stuff that I have bought and will wash new stuff in the next few weeks - just want to make sure that we are def going to use it as reselling will be a lot easier with the tags still on! I don't iron either - if clothes are hung right whilst drying most of the creases drop out anyway! As for drying stuff I am looking to buy one of these (probably the Concerto) http://www.rotaire.com/order/#concerto-airer-and-dryline so that I can still dry clothes outside when it is raining! We've just had central heating put in but I'd rather not have clothes draped over the rads all the time!
Had midwife appt today (32+6) LO is just above the average line on the measurements chart and he was lying at a funny angle so it took her a while to find his heartbeat! All good though.
Bought the Mamas and Papa Vico wardorbe and dresser off ebay - brand new - for a bargain price. Just have to arrange a courier to collec them, but even paying out for that the total cost comes to a lot less than the price in Argos so we're really happy with that! Just got to get on a paint the nursery now, so that when the furniture arrives it can go straight in the room.
Poorly tabby saw the vet last night - he has got cystitus so she gave him a long lasted antibiotic injection and he's also got some anti-inflammatory medicine which I have to put over his food. She said that cystitus in male cats is predominantly caused by stress so it must be all the upheaval in the house over the last few weeks with all the works that we have had done. She also indicated that he may get stressed when baby comes along and recommended getting a special diffuser which helps to calm cats down. He seemed better this morning cos he bolted out of the door to chase some birds, but he came back in about an hour later and went for a sleep on the bed. Hopefully, it is a one-off bout, once downstairs is a bit more straight we're going to put his toys out so that he has familiar stuff and also his own scent around him.
Have def had enough of work; every phone call is a chore, every task is a pain - I just can't be bothered now! I would actually start my maternity leave early but I am trying to earn as much as I can before I have to as there's every chance I may not go back to work after LO arrives.
Hope everyone is having a great day and Rups I second what everyone else has said - don't buy a doppler!0 -

On the cat subject, our neighbour's cat is most ungrateful for us feeding him while they were gone. We came home to bird carnage one day in our garden, he must have caught something (feathers everywhere), yesterday morning he caught a magpie (which thankfully got away after losing a few feathers) and today he jumped for the goldfinches on their feeder - couldn't see if he got one or not!0

Afternoon ladies
We got back from our weekend away yesterday evening, but it’s taken me until now to catch up! We had a lovely weekend, the sun came out on Friday night and it was beautiful for the rest of the weekend. Spent ages chilling at the beach, and the campsite, and the pub for dinner etc, I love camping! So relaxed now. It was weird thinking that the next time we go (unless we squeeze in another trip in early September) we’ll be taking a small person with us too!
24 weeks today for me, so relieved to have reached it with no problems. Had the midwife this morning, she was running late as normal even though I was the first appointment. Still I’d rather wait to see my lovely midwife than have a horrid one that’s always on time! She gave me a prescription for my weirdly itchy nipples, in case it’s thrush. If it doesn’t clear up with the Canestan cream I have to go and see the GP in case I have nipple eczema(DH thinks this is hilarious, so do I apart from when they’re itching!:rotfl:) Booked in for 28 week bloods including GTT in a few weeks.
For those with no tumble dryer, we’re thinking of buying one of these http://www.lakeland.co.uk/21736/Dry-Soon-3-Tier-Heated-Tower-Airer to get our washing dry a bit faster over the winter.
Have read back, but can’t remember anything else, so labour vibes to the boldies, and hugs to everyone else
