Just sent my letter to the agency notifying them of Maternity Leave - eek!

Morning ladies, how are we all this morning?

ooh Claree - it does make it that much more real when you have put in your mat leave notice doesn't it.

lazywife, glad that yesterday wasn't as bad as expected and hope today is another good day.

As for me, baby is still aboard but I saw mw this morning. She offered a sweep today or I could see her on Thursday. Asked for it today as it is time for baby to arrive already! So she did it and reported it was very favourable; cervix is 50% effaced and I'm 1 - 2 cm dilated. :j It may not work but on the other hand it may hurry baby along (yes please! come on baby!). As I'm a FTM, I'm taking these as positive signs that baby is planning an entrance before too much longer! I've not had any pains or anything so mw says I'm obviously not noticing contractions but to have gotten to this point must be having them. That does slightly concern me...

Gonna spend some time bouncing on my ball once I've hung the laundry out and that will hopefully encourage things in the right direction.

The guy's not even replied to my email - what an anticlimax! LOL.

Hope baby comes soon Saffa, you seem to be making good progress anyway - bit weird about not feeling contractions as yet but I'm a first timer so it might be perfectly normal.

I have 13 weeks left of work, minus 3 booked in holidays. How exciting

You don't always feel the first couple of cm's. If she hadn't been checked previously (can't remember if you've had another sweep or not Saffagal, but she could have been 1-2cm for a couple of weeks.

Saffagal, I had a sweep with DD1 at 2pm, by 3pm they were unbearable so went into hospital and by 7:03pm she was out So you never know, might only be a few more hours

Well I am just back from my 20 week scan... everything is fine, except the Placenta is low. So had to see the MW, OH was with me, she advised it is up to us if we have sex, but best avoided!!! Thats ok for me, but I think the OH was not best pleased!!! Have to go back at 30 weeks to have another scan and possibly see the Consultant again, even though I have an appointment next week with him!!!

The MW said 90% of the time it sorts it self out by 30 weeks, I bloomin hope so as I am supposed to going to Itlay at 32 weeks!!! If it doesnt resolve at 30 weeks, looks like a C-section!!!!
I am not worried too much at this point, the worry will start at the scan!!!

I havent read anything about pregnany or what happens when you have a little one, think I may need to get a book to read!!!! I am usually so clued up about eveything before I do it!!!!!

Clare, I havent put my maternity forms in yet in work... I think it will be very real that I will be having 6 months off with a little baby!!!!

Saffa, hope the baby arrives soon.

Hi everyone, I'm 30 weeks now, eek! Still haven't heard from HR to confirm my maternity leave officially in writing but that doesn't surprise me. The Health Visitor team want to visit me on Wednesday and seeing the midwife tomorrow. It's all going really quickly now, so need to get on with finishing uni work so I'm ready!

Haha I know! I feel bad for my OH - I seem to have totally missed this "up for it" phase that I was supposed to have and I'm now so tired and awful that I don't want to go near him :rotfl:
