I'm in the same club!! Only got nine working days left (after I finish at 6 today) until holiday/maternity leave, and cannot be bothered any more! My stupid boss is still putting lots of pressure on, making sure she squeezes every last drop out of me, but I do have the occasional browse online at baby things too... In fact, after all the chat about clothes.... I'm off to look at Mothercare yoga pants
MV - I think I might get the bootcut jeans in a size bigger than the skinny jeans I bought, might try with the overbump band instead as the underbump band is really tight now.
How exciting :j I have about 14 weeks left, give or takeThe upshot of them messing my wages up this week is I have an extra 3 days holiday accrued now though. Granted I therefore took unpaid leave last week but I'm over it!
I hate underbump trousers - I feel like they're falling down all the time. My mum's graduation is tomorrow and it's "smart casual" so I have no idea what I'm going to wear! I have work clothes, and I have slob clothes - nothing inbetween :rotfl: Oh and my black boots are done so it'll have to be cowboy boots - sorry mum! I also can't gleam from our conversation if it's just me she's got a ticket for or me & OH - had to enquire by text when I realised I never asked! My Debt Free Diary

'Smart casual' is a nightmare for me.... I can casual... in my jeans... or I can be smart.... in a dress I'd wear to a wedding or something.... but what is in between?! It's even worse for my DH, he owns jeans and t-shirts, and a suit... and that's pretty much it!
I started counting down the number of working days I had left weeks ago, and I've loved crossing them off every day, weirdly it seems to have made the time go quicker, I highly recommend it!!0 -
I'm off out tomorrow night and haven't got a clue what to wear, it's not really summery enough for my maxi dresses that I wore on holiday but none of my evening tops fit any more!0

Thanks for this, very helpful. I think I will go for it, I like the idea about meeting other couples too. Although now you have me worried they will all be a lot older than me as I'm only 25!
Congratulations chonorla!
I am late 30s - we were the oldest there! But don't worry - you will fit in fine. You will find that because the NCT charge - you will get people who want to learn more than just the basic facts as it gives you the confidence to question things (I'm not saying that NHS courses are full of people who don't want to learn before anyone shoots me down!) and it does weed a certain type out - especially so in my area - my mw told me this - although obviously it might be different in other areas (again I know that sounds snobby but at the end of the day thats the target market of the NCT groups and the reason why many people go to them - everyone who attended my class said exactly the same thing).0 -
I'm still mulling over the NCT classes as they are so expensive in my area £318 for two days plus a breast feeding workshop. It seems a lot but the NHS ones are all weekdays in working hours. Apparently there are only six spots too so I feel like I have to make a quick decision despite it still being fairly early days.0

lobey, you are entitled to attend the NHS classes in working hours, with the time still being paid by your employer. It is one of the "rights" of the pregnant employer - just like any antenatal appointments that you may have.0
-
I've missed all the NHS classes apparently, as I couldn't book earlier due to work. Thinking of doing hypno-birthing rather than NCT though, one on one and probably more useful for birth as I've read a lot that covers all the other stuff.0

Hi ladies,
Mind if i join u?
After 4 years ttc and a failed course of ivf I'm pregnant with my second 19 + 4 today, and have my 20 week scan on tuesreally excited for it but also a bit nervous as dd is coming to and i just hope all is ok.
Due date is sept 10th,which seemed a lifetime away in the first twelve weeks but has started creeping up a bit to quickly for my liking now as i had some grand plans of paying off my cc and saving enough money to pay my mortgage whilst i was off!! Aint happening!!
Was also thinking about the nct classes as i know a couple of people who have been and made really good friends through it. Will have to have a look into price location and times as we both work full time and have dd to consider.
I saw the conversation about the nhs classes and youngsters going and have to say when i had dd (i was 20) i didn't go as i thought everyone would be a lot older than me and look down on me!
Dd is now 8, and i will definitely go to some form of lessons this time as i ended up with a c-sect and was totally clueless!!
Anyway enough of my jabbering, hope your all feeling ok, and good luck with scans births etc xxStill here..... but working on that!0 -
littleskintdragon I was just going to ask if anyone was thinking of doing NCT classes with their second child. I booked when I had DD, but my DH's best friend decided to get married. The stag was on the first date, the wedding was on the second date so I had to cancel and there were no other courses available unless I was going to drive 30 miles both ways! I know loads of people who have made some really good friends from them as well.
I was a bit dusappointed with the NHS ones, they were very boring. I'd read up on most things and knew all of the answers- not because I'm a swot either! DH knew more about the pain relief than they did, but then he's been in and out of operating theatres for a large chunk of his life. Then they were trying to flog gym memberships for after the baby had been born- last thing on anyone's mind!
The breastfeeding workshop was full so I didn't go on that either, but I've successfully fed my DD so I don't think I'll bother, but I'm worried they might say something which could be really helpful.Got married 13/11/10
DD1 born 25/03/12

Had my pre pop appointment yesterday got there at 12 couldn't believe my luck as there was no one waiting for blood test, so went straight in, and then went to next bit, waiting 45 min just to do blood pressure and routine stuff, then had to wait 2 and a half pxy hour to c the next person. What a joke!!! I can understand they were busy but what a boring wait I had lucky both my kids were getting pick up or I would of been xuck .
Can't believe in under 48 hours I will become a mum for the 3rd and final time, I don't know why but some thing doesn't seem real yet, I don't know if it cause he wasn't plan and other two was. It just doesn't seem real yet, I'm sooo confused with the way I feel..0
