Hello - just popping over from the earlier board.
I did NHS & NCT courses and found them both useful in different ways.

The NHS course was very factual (or "brutal" as my OH called it), I really liked this because I'm the type of person who likes to have all the facts. By chance I bumped into some of the people at the NHS class when LO wasa few months old and we all went to the sure start baby group together, so it was nice to know some familiar faces.

The NCT course was a more "ideal birth" approach so, for me, less helpful information-wise. However I made some great friends who I still see 3 years on.

I felt it was definitely worth doing both, in my experience.

    That's great MV :)

Looking more likely now for me having a Boy as it was right with my 2 girls :D Also looking like it could be a Boy for PigPen :D

I've got my scan again tomorrow, going to drink like there's no tomorrow so I have the biggest bladder they've ever seen. I bet it still doesn't make a difference and it's a naughty baby again. :rotfl:

I swear.. if mine is a boy I shall sniff my slippers... and they are hideous I tell you!
Pigpen, I love your male version of SPD! You always make me laugh.

I have to have one talent :p

Pigpen, how many children do u have ?? Cozim surei read 8 , is that correct or am I wrong ? What sex are they??

10.. 3 boys 7 girls.. my youngest boy is 14 and I have 5 girls after him... this one is just not going to be a boy is it?

This being a boy is the one thing that will gain its favour in OH's eyes.. his 3rd girl just won't. He loves the 2 naughties but is adamant he is creating no more after this one with anyone, not just me.

I hadn't even considered doing both! I thought you had to make a choice, not sure why. I think that sounds like a bril plan, best of both then. Will definitely look into the nhs one too, does the midwife usually tell you when to book them? I don't think I've come across any info about them so far. I will have a google and see what I can find.

    Thanks sweaty Betty :-)

    My mother-in-law has 14: 8 girls and 6 boys (G, G, G, G, B, G, G, B, B, G, B, B, G+B). DH is the eldest B and for a good few years he was outnumbered 6 to 1.

neneromanova, hope that baby behaves at your scan tomorrow

Hope that everyone else had a good day today and here's hoping tomorrow a lovely sunny day to encourage babies out (for those of us who're ready)

    You're welcome :)
My community midwife told me about the NHS classes as they ran them, although I believe some are run at the hospital too. So I'd try the midwife first. Good luck!

Pigpen, wow, I really couldn't cope with 10, my two boys don't fight at all so I'm very lucky but my god they can both get on my nerves sometimes. I'm having my 3rd boy, Ill just have to wait till one day in a very LNG time that one of my boys will have a girl :)

You never know though it may be a boy! When do u have your scan?

I never went to ne of those classes, really is not me but good luck if u do.

Mv, I've never been invited to soo much stuff in the last 9months, soo not fair see in every one else having a great time and me just looking in to my coke and leaving early. On well I've got two nights plan out already!! I'll look forward to then.
I'm suppose to be going out tomorrow night, but have declined as I really can not be arsed and going to have a lovely relaxing weekend before baby comes Monday xx

Saffagal , good luck as ur next on the list, unless I bet ya lol xx
