i love doing the school run when it pee in it down with rain, thunder and lightening and not wearing a coat or jacket coz it was lovely about 30 minutes before, and trying to make the kids hurry up and walk to the car faster does not help when you have really strong braxton hicks, cant belive how many im getting at the moment when ive never had ne before in pregnancys

i havent even brought a changing bag yet!!!! and im having him on monday!! lol, may just go to boots and claim the free one, that's one bag i do not miss when its gone, as you always fill it up with so much stuff which you dont need!!

    time to make tea now
good luck chonola if your in labourx

MV - hope your scan today went well!

Chonorla - hope you are not kept waiting too long :)

Not much new to report here, just waddling along nicely :D Had first antenatal class on Tuesday evening, really enjoyed it actually! And I've got a new midwife (last one went on maternity leave... inconsiderate :p) and she is LOVELY so am very pleased about that! Had an appointment with her today and all looking pretty average which is what I like to hear.

Only two weeks left at work woohoo and then going on holiday, absolutely cannot wait to be free of my stupid boss and job, and start getting ready for the baby!

    That's great MV :)

Looking more likely now for me having a Boy as it was right with my 2 girls :D Also looking like it could be a Boy for PigPen :D

I've got my scan again tomorrow, going to drink like there's no tomorrow so I have the biggest bladder they've ever seen. I bet it still doesn't make a difference and it's a naughty baby again. :rotfl:

Hey all, hope everyone's well and not suffering too much.

I went for my 25 week appointment and doc says I'm measuring 26cm when I'm only 24.5 weeks. He didn't seem too concerned tho, hopefully it will even itself out when I next see the midwife at 28 weeks.

Starting to feel really pregnant now, my belly has overgrown my boobs lmao!

Anyone had any experience with the nct classes? I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to go for it, as this is the first baby on either side of our families for 20 years and we are also the first of our friends so need all the advice we can get! Round here it's £250 for the course tho, which seems like an awful lot of money!

Sunny here, long may it continue :-)

    Good evening all.
Pigpen, I love your male version of SPD! You always make me laugh.
claree__x, have you chosen your bag yet? Hope your day improved.
helen4891, hope you're ok. My house seems to be going through loads of loo roll. Think it's with me not being at work and constantly going for a tinkle!
lazywife, my bump is rock solid. It's like I've eaten a football.
MV, congrats on team pink - mine should be too!
Hope all is going ok for chonorla. Seems like she may be busy.
On another positive note I finally heard from the bumps and babies group today. There should be a space for me in June and would I like to go and visit them next week. The lady I spoke to seemed lovely so I'm looking forward to it now. The timing is pretty good too.
I have my consultant appointment tomorrow morning, don't feel like going but I expect I should. Fingers crossed all is ok.
    Take care all. X

We did the NHS classes, is it worth investigating those 1st as they're free and if you feel you want more advice / support look into NCT then?

Hi Baleb - I have just finished my NCT course - didn't want to do the NHS ones as round here I would have to go to a mega chavvy area for them and didn't want to end up with teenage mums - as snobby as it sounds I wanted to meet people in a similar situation to us (I have nothing against teenage mums but I wanted to meet people I would possibly go for a coffee with and have something in common to chat about).

I have to say that I am glad that I did - all parents at the class were of a similar age, had similar jobs and clearly shared similar values - also you get more time (I think the courses are nearly double the length of the NHS ones - or they are around here) and attention.

It has also given me the confidence to ensure that I know what is happening and to ask questions of medical professionals. In fact I am now even planning (note planning!) a home birth as I believe now that is right decision for me (although I was the only one on the course doing so, so you are not brainwashed or anything!).

On the NHS courses, there can be large groups whereas we were in a group of 12 (6 sets of parents) - which gave you time to ask things specific to your own circumstances. We saved £40 by not signing up to become members - we didn't feel that this was necessary so took it off when paying online.

Hope that helps - for me it was worth every penny and I would definitely recommend the NCT ones.
