Hello ladies - just popping on to see how you are all doing?

Flynn Oliver is now almost 48 hours old and fitting in like he has always been here. My other 3 love him :smileyhea

Will pop my quick birth story here, as its nothing exciting and does almost fit on a post it note helen!

Waters broke with a loud pop at 6.05 am on Thursday. I was tired so ignored them for an hour as they weren't trickling and went back to sleep :D. Got up at 7am with the 3 kids and phoned labor ward. As advised due to my previous mega fast labors they advised me to make my way in. Was having no pains so sorted the kids out and got to hospital around 9am. All checks done and baby monitored. They then put me on the ward and me and DH went for a very long walk. Came back to the ward as was having niggly pains and bounced on the birthing ball for half an hour. Pains went from a niggle to a toe curl in about 3 contractions at 1 minute apart, and DH went to get a MW who examined me and said I was around 5cm (cervix is in an awkward position so they always struggle and 2 of them had to have a go :o). Down to labor ward - one girl as I left said "Thats not fair, she's only just got here!".Sorry, didn't realise we were meant to take it in turns.....:o

Couldn't monitor baby as he was back to back so put one of those clippy things on his head. Started on the gas and air as my back was splitting in two. Definitely my most painful labor, despite having already had 2 out of 3 back to back labors. I asked for some pain relief and the MW suggested diamorphine? Have never had pain relief before but was willing to give anything a go at this point!!! MW went to get it, but everything just went mad then and I shouted to DH "I need to push!". He ran out of the room and shouted, then in run 3 MW's and all I heard from one of the MW's was " No diamorphine for you sweetie, just a baby" :).

I gave 2 pushes and baby arrived at 3.26pm :D

1 hour 50 minutes for stage 1 of the labor and 6 minutes for the stage 2. So not my quickest labor either :)

Stubborn placenta delivered and we were all left alone for half an hour with tea and toast. The staff ran me a bath and were generally lovely.

We came home just before 6pm and my DD cried when she first saw him :)

Helen - Good luck! So excited for you!!! My last baby too, so its quite an exciting but sad time too. Nothing beats a newborn baby :D And even though mine were all planned I don't actually believe they are real until they are in my arms.

Saffa - Are you still here with us??

claretsgirl - so glad everything is going well now.

bigbird - 3 out of my 4 babies were delivered back to back so I guess there is a chance yr next one will be too. It has not made mine any longer if that is any consolation, despite 2 inductions.

Welcome to any new ladies and good luck and lots of love to all those I have spent this pregnancy with - the good and the bad bits. The support has been fantastic and much appreciated, particularly after my initial early pregnancy problems and thinking I would never reach this point. I will be lurking for a little longer to see those I graduated with, become mummies or mummies again and wish everyone all the best.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Oh dear, having a very down day today. Trying to get on top of things and feel like taking one step forward and 2 steps back. Tomorrow we now have to do a 100 mile round trip to get to a Maplin as DH needs a particular cable for work on Monday. My bump is uncomfy and the thought of sitting in a car for 2 hrs or so makes me cry, but can't leave DH to do it alone. He's so stressed as it is, I need to be with him to keep him positive and calm. Feel like everything is such hard work at the mo.... and that's before LO arrives .

Chonorla - Congrats on the birth of baby Flynn! What a lovely name and great how fast you came home :)

I am now in panic mode. Im so anxious and really dont know how i'm going to be a mum! Its like all these panic have just started coming in and i dont know if ill know what im doing or how to do it and then reading my baby book everything is just so overwhelming. I just want her here now so that the birth and everything is all over and I can focus on her.

    Morning ladies

Well, I'm still here - baby is showing no signs of wanting to put in an appearance much to my disgust!
Spent yesterday working in the garden; we had a low (30cm) wooden retainer holding up the garden and it had mostly rotted away and was no longer doing the job - so replaced it. That didn't help budge baby either.

Helen, good luck for tomorrow - hope it all goes well and enjoy your mummy cuddles. I'm seeing the mw again tomorrow for a sweep so hopefully won't be too much longer waiting on mine.

lazywife, hope that the sun is shining where you are and you can make a nice trip out of it (lunch out etc to make it more of a pleasure than a chore).

Chonorla, take care and enjoy your time with Flynn

off to clean the house (again), before a long walk
    Saf xx

    Hey everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying the sunshine. Lazy wife I hope you're feeling better and managed to enjoy the journey as much as possible. Helen and saffa I hope your babies come soon.

I am so so uncomfortable. Actually having Braxton hicks a lot lots of pressure and pains but still very early at 35 weeks. Would v much like baby to be early as I can't imagine there is any space for baby to get bigger, there's no room left in stretched to bursting. Walking is a huge issue, I'm so slow and waddling embarrassingly so. Repacked my hospital bag last night so definitely ready. Have the midwife on Tuesday who will give me the results of my diabetes test and tell me where I'm going from there. Just going to chill out tonight and eat chocolate and get on with my assignment tomorrow, I really can't be bothered so tomorrow will have to do.

Oooh so exciting Helen, have you, (your OH lol) managed to get everything sorted? Do you feel prepared?

Well since my last message my back has given way! I've had a bad back for years but it's liveable. But something went in it this afternoon and I'm fine sitting but getting up and trying to walk is a nightmare for the first couple of minutes, even burst into tears as was unable to get up. But trying to work with it, if it's as bad tomorrow I think i might go to the Drs, although cant see them doing anything with 4 and a half weeks to go. Have had to turn down some cake making work and have made the executive decision to stop the buggy fitness classes I've been going to, I really have reached a point of no return waddling wise so I'm just going to have to live with it and take it easier. OH has obviously noticed a difference as he even hoovered this morning even though I said I'd do it, think he's starting to feel bad, either that or all my nagging and hints about how tired and rubbish I feel have finally sunk in.
