I just got an email from my wedding photographer to ask if an online blog can feature my wedding - how exciting?! :D

I was reading the birth stories thread last night and you have no idea how much I want to have to be enduced or an arranged section. The idea of going into labour in the house and having to go to the hospital, be sent home, go back in etc scares the hell outta me.

I have never been sent home, I have walked out and have discharged myself.. plus if you are booked for induction/section if they are busy you are sent home!

    Ahh nightmare!! :rotfl:
I'm sure I'll be fine, and I'll get through it, but the thought of it right now terrifies me. I'm surprisingly fine with the birth in general thing, just not going into labour in the house.

Exciting!!! Which blog - Love my Dress? Whimsical Wonderland Weddings? They were my faves while I was planning. Our wedding was featured in a bridal magazine and it's a lovely keepsake :)

Aw, you'll be fine! I don't like the idea of hanging around waiting to be induced - my sis had to wait 3 and a half hrs becuase they were really busy and by all accounts it can often be longer than that - and after they did it they just left her. Her OH had to call the midwife back in because the baby was out within about 2hrs.

Same with a section - if they have emergencies then they will be prioritised over you so you could be in for a long wait. You're probably better off labouring in the comfort of your own home for as long as you can - even if you have to go in to get checked and then go home again.

Also if you are induced then you'll have a drip in and possibly increased monitoring so you might not be able to move around as much as you'd like to in order to help with the labour. If it has to happen then so be it, but I wouldn't opt for it over going into labour naturally.

Have you thought about doing a bit of hypnosis to help you feel a bit more relaxed about it? I'm trying the Natal Hypnotherapy CD's at the moment. I'm quite laid back anyway, but I'm hoping they will help me to stay calm and take things as they come.

It's brides up north - I'll post a link when mine is on there, mainly to show off :D I loved going over my wedding stuff, I wish I could do it all again (without being divorced obviously!). I'm a little gutted that I won't get to do something like that again.

I'm hoping that the fact I'm dying to be a mummy will get me over my fears

I can nearly guarantee you'll get over your fears! I was a right wimp, hated needles, hospitals, the thought of an epidural terrified me! I ended up having a crash section, 4 cannula's in each arm and the epidural and I was fine, all I was bothered about was my baby being ok. It was almost like something took over me and I dealt with it, I'm sure you'll be fine, I think its almost fear of the unknown more than anything else.

Thanks for your kind words of advice ladies :) I'm gonna try some of the spray on stuff because it is a bit hard when you don't have a bath (ohhhhh how I miss my lovely bath tub!!)

I have stocked up on milk and - touch wood - things don't seem to bad in the heart burn department. I just don't feel comfortable taking meds whilst pregnant. I know that Gavison (sp) is harmless and that my worries are all in my head but hey ho.

How are peoples ribs?? Mine are killing me!! If I could, I would quite happily remove my lower rib on my right hand side.

I am getting closer to my next scan (six days) and I am fretting because we find out whether or not my placenta has moved. I'm just beginning to wonder how I will manage when baby gets here. My mum died a few months before we found out about him and I just wish that that I had an elder influential female in my life (one who knows me inside out) to give me some guidance. My OH's mum lives a short distance away but it isn't the same. I keep telling myself that I am not the first to have a baby and that everything will be ok.

Snoz... you will be fine because you want to be.. you have us and I know you don't see OH's mum the same as your own but she cares about the baby the same as your mum and about OH the same as your mum does you and she would want you to ask her and not be embarrassed.. I am in her position with DS1's OH, her mum died on mothers day last year when dil was 6 months pg but they didn't talk about such things.. we are very open and she did ask some personal questions or she got DS1 to ask.. I just wanted her to know she is considered family and always will be and she can speak to me about anything... I'd rather be asked the most silly question if knowing the answer made her feel better. ((hugs))

Hormone overload today... 1 line from a song as someones status and I dissolved into a blubbering mess...

What an awful morning I've had. So from last Tuesday (17+0) I've felt tiny human move. Faint at first but got stronger and it's definately movement.

From about 4pm yesterday I felt nothing. I know it sounds crazy but I felt like something had changed. I kept thinking "Maybe I'll feel it in the car" ... "Maybe I'll feel it when I've had something to eat" ... "Maybe I'll feel it in bed" ... "I'm sure I'll feel it when I get up" - but nothing.

I phoned Mat Assessment this morning and the woman was awful. Told me that it's too early in my first pregnancy to feel anything and it was probably just wind. Eventually she said "Okay, come in if you want but you have to bring your book" and hung up. I was so upset!!

I went in, they told me to take a bed, left me 20 mins on my own and then the same woman came back, listened to the heartbeat for about 3 seconds and went "Right, that's fine, but it is still very early in your first pregancy".

    I'm still really angry!!
