babymonster, I'm also still here :( Currently 41wks today & no sign of Bean wanting to put in an appearance despite curry, lots of bouncing on the ball, what got us here in the first place on more than once occasion & I've had my 3rd sweep this morning! We must just have obscenely comfortable wombs :)

The midwife has booked my induction this morning for next Monday. Apparently it doesn't automatically dismiss the possibility of a water birth, it just depends how much intervention I need. If all I need it the tablets (begin with P I think) & for my waters to be broken then a waterbirth is still very much a possibility as I'll not technically have been medicalised :)

I'm currently sat at the antenatal clinic waiting for yet another pointless consultants appointment & they keep coming to tell us there are significant delays with the clinic because consultants are coming in from Sheffield & the snow has caused all sorts of problems. Doesn't really make me want to sit here considering I have a distinct dislike for my consultant anyway, had a poo nights sleep & am grumpy due to being a week over!

Right. I'm now out of my consultants appt & didn't have to see mine because he wasn't there :D I saw a different one who basically didn't see the point in me being there having seen my midwife this morning & discharged me :D So I'm in a much better mood now & hoping Bean is going to get a wriggle on & come today seen as it would have been my Grandads birthday :)
  • Morning all,

Fingers crossed for Mrs B and babymonster 2 for their impending births!

I had a very productive weekend, after throwing a teeny strop at OH for not having any products ready for the hospital bags (I know, still at tad early at 29 weeks but you never know!) I went out and shopped with my mum all day Sat!!! Now I feel like a little boy scout all prepped and ready should something happen. Well, I say ready, I still need to wash stuff but at least its in the bag and I havent got to buy stuff.

The cot is up, the curtains are up and the nursery looks like a nursery :j Am sooooo pleased. My OH and my parents have worked their hineys off for the last 6 weekends getting the nursery done and our new bedroom prepped ready for painting. I feel a bit useless as all i've been able to do is feed and water them (no-one will let me lift a finger, very annoying ) but as they say, all troops need sustinence!

Baby is moving nicely, still prob only 2-3 slots a day but each of those slots is jam packed with rolls, jabs, kicks and hiccups! Even my Braxton hicks have eased a little. Will post some pics of the nursery when its all finitoed.

    have a lovely afternoon y'all

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

    Yes Verucca dear. :rotfl:
  • mrsB is it wrong to say that I'm pleased you're still here? Makes me feel less alone! We really need to get these babies to get a wriggle on!

I got myself discharged from consultant a fortnight ago as they couldn't see the point in my being there, sure they'll turn up when I'm in labour if its required! :D

I've got induction booked for tomorrow after they wanted me to have one at term but I wanted to give the baby a chance first, looks like it's going to need ousting though! Silly babies!

jwah well done on your productive weekend! :T doesn't matte who did the work, sure you were the driving force behind it all!

im soooo tired today, had the worst night sleep in ages, i couldnt get to sleep for ages last night and baby loves kicking my bladder, if felt my front area was vibrating was a truly werid feeling!! then 3 i woke up with heartburn which was making me feel sick , still awake at 4, then from about 5 til 7 i had period pain but worse in my stomach ( i can only describe the pain as what i got after i had a cvs test on placenta), then it came back around 11 but didnt last as long thank god. just pick up ds1 from school, went shop bent down and has a stabbing pain in stomach.
i never suffer with ne thing so dont know whats going on there!!

    Hey everyone!

Welcome to the group Sparkles :)

Mrs_b and babymonster can't believe you are both still waiting for your babies. Good luck for tomorrow babymonster!

Msnigella - happy last day at work!

Dizzi - I have been prescribed co codamol from my GP for PGP, can you not get a prescription for some?

Justwantahouse - Yaye for having the nursery decorated and nothing wrong with being organised with hospital bags.

Sorry you had a crappy night sleep Helen, hope tonight will be a better night for you.

Been to aquanatal today for the first time, was ok but now on a 2 week break so might not get to go again if baby decides to be on time. Got NCT breastfeeding workshop tonight, could easily just go to bed and have a snooze!

GP's now prescribed codeine for the nights the pain is really bad - had to go this morning to discuss coming off my other medication altogether (meant to come off it about 4 weeks before due date but since we're working on having a previous 33 weeker I'm coming off it much earlier).

Surprisingly I just got a SATs marking contract offered for this year - assumed I'd lost my marker status cos I didn't mark last year with having a due date the date of the actual tests - this year I'm going to be completely insane and planning on doing it with a 1 year old and a 1 month old... daddy's going to be pretty much taking over as soon as he gets in from work so I can plough through a few dozen scripts each night! The money's too nice to miss and keeping my active marking status really is important to me.
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!
  • Does anyone have experience of ECVs? Baby is breech so I'm having this done on Friday. I'm 36 weeks today and she's been breech all along without any sign of turning on her own. Am a bit nervous about having it done.

Evening ladies - am starting to feel 31 weeks pregnant now - am shattered :( Am hoping its the pregnancy thats making me tired and not my age - or how on earth am I going to cope with 4 children when baby arrives. Bit late to be worrying about it now though :rotfl:

Can't keep the blinking iron tablets down, so am guessing my low iron levels are not helping. Am eating loads of iron rich foods but don't think its enough to make a difference yet. Nearly fell asleep in the university library today, I blame the fact it was too hot in there. Kept bopping my head like a little nodding dog and had to keep getting up and walking round in case I started snoring :o Needless to say I got very little work done!!

iwannabeonthebeach - I had an ECV with my eldest 14 years ago and it was uncomfortable and made me feel a bit sick. He didn't turn immediately but they must have dislodged him because he moved the next day! Unfortunately he was back to back, as all of my babies have been so that just makes things harder (well for me anyway :D - babies have all seemed fine with it!). He started to turn back up during labor and they then performed an internal one, managed to pull him back round and ventoused him. He certainly kept the MW's on their toes :rotfl:
I don't like to speak too soon but this baby is not back to back at the moment and is head down, so maybe I have manged to get one right :T

My SPD is killing me now and have had to admit defeat and book a doctors appointment. MW has taken no notice when I say I am in pain, but no surprise there :( I can't take any painkillers either.

On a more positive note, my littlest DD and DS's room is now "fitted wardrobe free" and decorated. They love it! The bunk beds are down and they blow kisses to each other across the room at bedtime.

My bottles arrived from Mothercare today and I got a pram from Argos, reduced from £100 to £25 - so have at least started to buy some things!!!! :T just want a house - haven't even thought about the hospital bag yet. You are all so organised :o

As for the girls and pink - I am not overly girlie (like my jewellery, scarves, make-up etc but not dresses, flowery stuff etc) but my daughter has turned into a pink frilly monster I am afraid. I hardly ever buy her pink clothes and I never wear pink, but she is now 4 years old and knows her own mind. EVERYTHING now has to be pink, frilly and with glitter is even better......

Sleepydust for those who need help sleeping and labour vibes for those who would like to meet their babies sometime soon :j

babymonster, I'll let you off for being pleased I'm still here although I may have to sulk a little as you're being induced tomorrow but I have to wait until next week ;)

Can't quite believe I'm now number 2 on the list  I had hoped to avoid making it to number 1 but I get the feeling I may get there & be stuck there for a little while due to my obscenely comfortable womb :p
