Hello ladies
How is everyone?
I've only got 6 weeks leftcan't wait now, hoping to give birth at the birth centre so as long as lo doesn't poo in me and I can cope with the pain should be fine
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Morning everyone
We've had a pants weekend tbh as we lost my Grandad on Sunday morning so I've completely gone to pieces since & just want Bean out now
It's our due date today so I'm hoping Bean will behave & put an appearance in. Especially considering my friend who isn't due for 8wks had her little one at 4:30 this morning (4lb 7 & all is well which is good)! I've had my first sweep this morning which really wasn't as bad as some people had said it would be! My cervix is apparently around 2cm thick but 1-2cm dilated so she did a pretty vigorous sweep, so fingers crossed0 -
Sending you labour vibes mrs_b and sorry for your loss, hope you are ok?
Mrsahworth2b - hope you get to have your baby in birth centre, keep my fingers crossed for you.
Saffagal- hope you get some relief from your hip pain, I sympathise as I'm now suffering from SPD along with everything else. Though I maybe had a uti but SPD apparently.
I have been put onto metformin for GD and if this doesn't work to bring my evening reading down but if not I'll need to start on insulin, giving it 2 weeks to work. I've been told all going well I will not be aloud to go past 39 weeks and they want to induce me. Had a meltdown as I am very anti induction due to traumatic first labour with induction and a whole host of problems that it caused.Lloyds loan £7045.16/£0.00 Lloyds CC £896.99/£649.25, barclaycard £2792.20/£4582.93, OD £1500, Next £210.43/£734.21, OD £300, Virgin CC £3135/£1108.53, Starting total,£15829.78, running total, £8874.92 paid off to date, £2303/6811.76/6654.86

Sorry for your loss Mrs_B and sorry for your SPD as well missty - it's a vile ailment - I have it particularly badly, to the extent I've just rang my mum and begged her to come down and help with our nearly 10 month old (where'd that time go - eek) for a few days to give me a break from the lifting her around!
Our midwife does the same again getting us to get bloods done if we're getting them done already at the hospital for various things - one of the two local hospitals gets dead mardy about the midwives all doing this, the other is much more obliging! So they did my 28 week bloods in conjunction with the bloodwork they were taking for my GTT - saved me one lot of needles!
I really need to get motivated to go clean the cheapo double buggy up a bit (it's fine - I just want to give it a quick scrub with it being second-hand) but lazy and it's hard to find space to put it up to do so in our house while supervising a not-quite-toddler... for some reason I have a complete replacement set of hoods and seat fabrics for it as well (bought it off Gumtree) which I need to figure out where the heck to store since they've been piled up behind my front door (which we never use) for a good couple of months... and then buy a replacement rain cover for it - we've found it invaluable having a little umbrella fold single stroller to chuck in the car for quick trips round the shops or whatever with one baby so plan on doing the same again with the two of 'em. Think my chances of finding a replacement newborn head hugger bit cheaply (I ain't spending a fortune getting this thing up to scratch when I've got a £600 proper double for most things) are slim to none though - can't seem to get any joy looking for them via Cossatto (it's one of those doubles with the slogans on them - not what I'd have got through choice but for what we need it for it's useable enough).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

Hello everyone :waves:
Hope everyone is well.
So sorry to hear about your grandad mrs_bcan't imagine losing a loved one when pregnant and hormones are everywhere as it is.
Missty - as Dizzi says SPD is a biarch. I was diagnosed with PGP (affects front area) at 25 weeks which recently hasn't been too bad bad until baby has now engaged and its now very painful again especially when I am in bed.
Glad you have managed to get some help Dizzi.
Been nesting some more and got DH to put up the changing unit yesterday and the damp patch is drying nicely in the nursery so fingers crossed we might just get it decorated before baby arrives, it only needs a lick of paint.
Labour vibes to all the boldies!I :heart2: saving money0 -
Woo I have an opinion with their specialist midwife to go over what the hospital can do to make things easier and less traumatic this time (and develop a birth "plan" as such)... not till I'm 32 weeks though which may be cutting it a bit fine, but I'm hoping with that in place and me having flagged up in advance the issues from last time I can get marked down as a priority to accommodate if the unit is full and closing to admissions, prevent a transfer to the hell hole hospital and at least ensure I get treated with some sympathy and understanding - rather than the escalating bullying which led to my terror last time and ultimately the social services referral.
First sign of the hospital taking my concerns seriously - and it's taken a HELL of a lot of pushing from my wonderful midwife to get to this point!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

That's grea news Dizzi, going through something similar re previous traumatic birth and getting there slowly but desperate like you to get decisions made and a plan put in place. It makes a difference when you have the midwife on your side.Lloyds loan £7045.16/£0.00 Lloyds CC £896.99/£649.25, barclaycard £2792.20/£4582.93, OD £1500, Next £210.43/£734.21, OD £300, Virgin CC £3135/£1108.53, Starting total,£15829.78, running total, £8874.92 paid off to date, £2303/6811.76/6654.86
