Welcome Just want a House :D

Saffagal - your hip pain sounds like it could be the start of SPD, very common in pregnancy. Your midwife/GP should be able to refer you for physio and there are support bands that we an get to wear to support our hips a bit more. Unfortunately it was this condition that had me signed off work as I used to commute 1.5 hours per day and found that driving made it worse. I was also prescribed co codamol to help with the pain which I only take occasionally when the pain is bad but its perfectly safe.

Been washing some more baby clothes today, I am just pondering what to pack in my hospital bag for myself clothes wise? I know that I am not going to pop baby out and tummy will go flat but not sure whether to pack maternity wear or whether I would be ok with normal tops in say a bigger size up? If any mummies still lurk here would love to hear your thoughts?

I know Bamama and I've got a feeling there will be quite a lot of boldies over the next few months with people who are now due not posting. I already feel like I've been stuck at number 23 on the list for ages.........

Thanks Queen_B, that's what I was thinking re the hip pain which is why I mentioned it to the GP today; didn't find his response at all helpful though - "it's likely related to the pregnancy and very common". Will speak to the midwife tomorrow and if necessary to work again about the possibility of doing some more regular days at home. It's difficult with my job but I've a few projects assigned to me at the moment that I can do remotely.

Ooh, Queen_B that is an excellent question re clothes for us after delivery! I hadn't even considered actual clothes for myself. Oops! Thank you for raising it.

Good luck to all the boldies!

I'm sure I read somewhere you'll deflate to about the level you were at 5 months pregnant after the birth - last time I just brought in my scruffing around the house very very stretchy tracksuit bottoms, but in the end I was in there that long (and had gained so little weight - consequence of me going off chocolate while pregnant) that I ended up going home in my pre-pregnancy jeans and my beloved tragically scruffy jumper in a fortnight (don't hate me!). They were tighter than they had been but went on OK (but were the baggy elasticated wide legged type of jeans anyway so not THAT impressive).

Admitted defeat today and didn't take my 9 month old to baby group - didn't trust myself walking and carrying her on the ice with my SPD as bad as it is at present.
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

your tummy goes down at the same level it was when you were 36 weeks, sadly it does not dissapear, i went in maternity clothes and go out in the same clothes i was wearing when i went in. Other are very very lucky, dont know how they do it but leave looking like they never had a baby, genes... i do not know.

The 35+ yo woman in the labour ward when i had dd left wearing skinny jeans and me, a 23 yo looked still pregnant :o.

This time, i will take some leggins, a long sleeve top that i am using currenly and my jacket.

I just took my baggy clothes. I still looked pregnant for a couple of days and you do not want tight clothes when you look like that...

I looked appr 5-6 months pregnant an hour after delivery.i took lrggings, long vest and long jumper with me,all in one size bigger than pre pregnancy. My tummy went back pre pregnancy size in two weeks, can't say the same about my arms, bum and lovehandles...
