  • Hello everyone, hope everyone is well. Welcome Lazywife, would you like your details adding to the list, if so just post your due date and gender of baby if known.

Saffagal - sooo pleased you managed to get a hungry caterpillar sleeping bag, they are so cute and it will go perfect with your theme.

Just been away on a mini babymoon, last break as a couple before baby arrives. Had a lovely time but totally shattered. Really feel like I've spouted over the past couple of days and getting so uncomfortable now.

I've seen the midwife loads during my pregnancy, I know I am on my first but most of the time I go and I leave wondering why I have bothered going. I was seen at 8,12,16,20,25,28,31 and 34 weeks. Now on fortnightly appointments till 40 weeks then 41 for sweep and that's it as 42 will be induction if I'm still around.

Congrats MushyPeas, glad your LO is doing ok.

    Hello All,

    How is everyone?

I've been for midwife today and yet again glucose in urine. Had my GGT on Xmas eve and it came back at 8 at 2 hours. So she has taken another random glucose blood today and I'm seeing consultant next week anyway. She thinks that they may just go ahead and send me to diabetic clinic as although not classed as GD the 8 result is still high and would be classed as pre diabetes if I wasn't pregnant. What can I do about my sweet tooth ladies, I find it hard with being at home most of the time not to eat a sneeky chocolate here and there:(

She also thinks that bubs head is tucked up under ribs and feet down, although getting growth scan on Thursday so will find out then.

Sent off forms for my maternity allowance and think I may have about 2 weeks without any money coming in due to last of holiday from my work and the MA being paid fortnightly, just what we don't need with last bits and pieces to buy for bubs, oh well.

Morocha... can't remember what I said but you're welcome :)

Rups is ok. Andre is losing weight though... she seems to be coping though. Just have to see how it goes.

Glad everyone seems ok and it's nice to see some new faces. Hope to see Neph about before she pops!

Thanks, due 29th April & gender not known :)
Picked up Emma's diary freebies today. Seem to be getting well stocked up on wipes now. Also some trials of Aldi's nappies with 50% off newborn size. Has anyone used Aldi's nappies. Any use? Dead cheap so tempted to just get a pack for newborn & take it from there?

Aldi nappies have been brilliant for all 3 of mine :) Boys and girl.

Threw up the 6 times before I got to my GTT test this morning and then promptly threw up the lucozade after 3 sips. Have got to try again next week with the lucozade - so third time lucky :(
they knew nothing about the carbs instead of the drink but said they will ask, as it may be my only option if I can't keep fluid down. Blinking hyperemesis :(

Sent of my Maternity allowance forms - should get the full £135 a week so that will be a help :)

  • Woo, quite a few bolides now. Happy due dates for all bolides and labour vibes coming your way.

Lazywife - I got the 50% coupon off for the Aldi nappies too, bought a pack, not much to loose they are £1.79 I think for 24 newborn so 50% of that is a deal and if they don't work out is not too much money wasted. I have heard really good things about them so hoping we get on with them too. I have bought a variety of different brand nappies so we can try and find out which brand works best for us.

Sorry to hear you didn't get to have your GTT chonorla :(

That's pants about the glucose missty. I love chocolate at the moment, there is nothing to substitute it isn't there? What about some diabetic chocolate? Never tried it so no idea what it tastes like?

Pleased to hear Rups is coping Bamama. Nephs is still around, not popped yet, posts more on the Facebook group.

Uneventful day here, ordered the Moses basket stand and mattress, last essential items, going to wash some more clothes, blankets etc tomorrow.

Aldi nappies are brill. Joel's in size 2 and they've caught all poo and wee with no leaks.

My after-birth Emma's Diary pack had a discount voucher for size 1. No good for us. If anyone wants it (and I haven't thrown it out - pretty sure it's still somewhere in the house), pm your address to me and I'll send it.

  • Morning All,

Can I be added to the list please. I've only just realised that I should have graduated up to this list 2 weeks ago as I'm now 26 wks!!! My due date is 23rd April and I don't know what we're having :j

Have had a fairly easy pregnancy so far (touch wood!)apart from constant coccyx problems but am currently experiencing a painful lower back. I had a new kneeling chair at work yesterday and its ok but now puts a lot of pressure on my knees so constantly having to get up and walk around :(

Baby is kicking a nice amount so I'm pleased about that. Having problems sleeping at the moment, have tried pillows in every possible way to help me but to no avail. Trying to blag a V shaped pillow off my mum to see if that will help. Feel like a zombie most days!

Off for this glucose test on Tues next week and for a show round of the maternity unit on Weds, very excited about that :D

Bought 1st pack of nappies last night due to them being on rollback at A*da - Little Angels. Going to use those for the first few weeks then will switch to reusables, so was really interested to read Snozberrry's post on MSE Mums thread earlier.

Hope you're all able to enjoy this lovely frosty scene we're experiencing at the min, I love the Winter!

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

Hallo ladies :) Brrr! It is cold out!!!

I'm working at home today as have the nursery furniture being delivered this afternoon - Yay!!! So very excited, it is distracting me slightly from the work I have to do; writing up an audit... sigh!

Also had a GP appt this morning to get a repeat of my BP meds. Wasn't my usual GP as he's left and there's a locum until the new one begins in Feb. I asked him about the hip pain I'm having (mainly R hip, radiating into groin) as it seems to be exacerbated by driving. Considering my commute is an almost an hours drive each way this is becoming an issue. He suggested dosing up on paracetamol as its probably because I'm pregnant and paracetamol is safe to take and then said he could give me a note to tell work I have hip pain. Unhelpful! Work already know this and a note doesn't help me resolve it; neither does taking tablets. Think I'll speak to the mw at antenatal class tomorrow for any practical advice she can offer.

In some ways the choice that is offered today regarding brands makes things much harder... I've bought a range of different nappies from the stores nearby (pampers, huggies - just because of the mum-to-be packs etc as they're being discontinued in the UK, Sainsburys and will get some Asda ones in their sale next week) then see what suits baby and take it from there. I don't believe there is an Aldi's anywhere near me.

Hope that you're all having a good day and keeping warm!
    Saf xx
