Yay so happy for rups!!! Congrats :j

Bamama Im glad you are finally getting home! About time too ;)

Hotbern, well done! Thats some labour you had! Why the epidural afterwards (sorry for being nosey!)

    *relurks*

Sorry for the delay in replying, someone has stolen all my sleep!
I had to go into hospital after delivering at home because the midwife wasn't happy about the amount of pain I was still in.
I then delivered a 700ml blood clot in hospital, so they wanted to give me a thorough going over inside to check there was nothing else in there! And because I had severe SPD, my legs wouldn't open wide enough for them, so I had an epidural.
Some birth! Some pregnancy! But he is absolutely worth it :)

    Hi all.

This is probably my last post on here, as I'm absconding to the newborn thread :j

I have tried to add my details myself, but no joy, probably because brains are mush at the moment!

Please can someone add under Hotbern, 21st December, 7lb 1oz, Daniel Emrys Julian Wyn.

Thanks, and good luck to everyone :T

  • Blindly it's really quiet on here at the moment!

helen that does seem like a long time, I know you have less appointments in straightforward pregnancies when had a baby before, think it may have a list of approx weeks in your notes? I was uncomfy since a similar time (now nearly 38 weeks!) so gave up work at 29 weeks to make things easier.

morocha don't wish too hard for snow! A friend of mine had to deliver his DS as they got snowed in and midwife couldn't get to them / they couldn't get to hospital! I for one am hoping for no snow! I've gone for carrycot rather than Moses basket too.

mrsB glad you've nearly finished work :j

helen4891 - That's about the same as me with the MW - I saw one at 16 weeks and one the week before last and then I see my Consultant again at 32 weeks followed by a growth scan to check size of my baby monster :D. MW said she will see me at full term then - provided I am not induced early. No extras for me even though I am high risk either. Guess they just think by the time you are on your fourth, you should know it all!!!! But it does worry me that things will be missed when they are not checking urine etc

I am finding this pregnancy harder than the first 3 too. My pubic bone is very sore - to even touch. I had SPD really bad with the other 3 but I have different pains this time, so am guessing its because my muscles have completely given up the ghost after carrying so many babies!

Still got my HG but am having bouts of severe violent sickness after eating certain foods - 8 times last night  Its not the same sort of sickness as the HG (sorry tmi) but I think it is because baby is that high in my rib cage it is stopping my food going down properly. I can feel baby quite low down too, so am really worried he is a good size already.....

And if its any consolation I look huge and am waddling like a penguin, something I never did till the last week or so with my others :rotfl:

morocha - I am up in North Wales too - no snow but very wet and windy and going colder by the minute...

:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j These are because I have just submitted my first MA assignment :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j So pleased that is done.

Now got to start the next one......:(

    Hope everyone is well xxxxx

My midwife's seeing me on the first baby timings for appointments - because of the previous prem birth and my anxiety/trauma issues from last time around so I'm on to 3 weeklies from next time anyway.

Good job since the hospital really couldn't care less - they wanted me to see the consultant (I'm "consultant led") for the next time at 34 weeks originally until I pointed out that number 1 had arrived by then! Midwife's like "so are they monitoring and scanning your cervix or checking your waters are intact"... "nope"... "have they said they're going to do any extra checks on you in case you're going to deliver early and need the steroid shots again"... "nope"...

Then every referral she does - like the mental health team because my mental health is shot after the last delivery - they just wriggle out of having to do anything. She contacted mental health, explained I can't deal with physically going out to see them because of my mobility issues (they've pulled our local bus route as well meaning I'm MORE stuck at home) and the fact they're based at the hospital that everything went on at last time - which triggers really really severe flashbacks when I go near the place... asked them to use the systems they have in place and get someone to come out and see me at home - they just did a 5 minute phonecall to say they were discharging my file (despite me being on meds the GP is requesting their support and guidance in prescribing during pregnancy!).

Now I think she's trying to get sense out of the senior midwife who usually deals with cases of tokophobia and those women to try to get me some reassurance I'll be better treated at this other hospital (indeed, reassurance I'll actually get admitted there would be nice - I know they HAVE a system whereby they can flag me as a high priority and not to be referred to the other hospital - but will they heck commit to doing this - nope)... nada on that front. Can't get the consultant to take me seriously - last time I saw them (at 12 weeks - so much for being watched more carefully after the preterm delivery) despite me being physically shaking and trying to explain the daily nightmares, panic attacks and crying myself to sleep the last place had left me with and my utter terror at the thought of having to go back there - they wrote on my notes "had a bit of a rough time at X hospital" and just totally disregarded everything I'd said!

I'm at the point of threatening to kidnap my lovely midwife and staple her TO me when I go into the hospital as she's the only one taking me at all seriously and not trying to wriggle out of the damage they did to me last time!

Oh still no answers about if the previous tear (sorry! I went there!) is going to cause problems delivering this time - I'm kind of expecting the consultant at 32 weeks to suddenly drop on me they'll want to do a c-section after I've asked the question umpteen times (think they'll be stuffed if they want to do that since I reacted fairly badly to the spinal block anaesthetic last time around)
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

    Evening ladies!

Welcome lazywife :) Nice to have you joining us! Yes, the time is passing! I've only 9 or 8 weeks work left too - just depending on how bad the snow gets and if I need to use any AL for snow days... I have a count day though actual working days (excluding weekends/days off) 43 to go at most!!

I think DH is getting down that he won't be stopping work too.

Dizzi, it is wonderful that your midwife is being so supportive even though neither she nor you are having much luck with other services. I'm really glad that she is listening.

chonorla - YAY for getting your first assignment in!!!! And good luck with the next one :)

helen, hope baby has been gentler with you today x

I think mine is still breech as all the strong movements I feel are really low down and sometimes it really hurts. I've been struggling with pain in my right hip the past few days. With the snow this morning (not that bad where I am or I'd not have gone in) my traffic was worse than usual and my commute took longer. When I arrived at work, my hip was so sore and sitting down seemed to exacerbate it not relieve it. Hopefully it will feel better again in the morning.

Hope we all have a good day tomorrow and if the weather is bad where you are, that you stay safe

    take care ladies,
    Saf xx
