Who do you think is at fault then; the Spanish government for increasing tax on departures in the future, or the airlines, for doing as they are legally required to do and collecting the increased tax?
I've already answered that. See above.

Anyone travelling by Ryanair must, I suppose, expect to be treated with contempt as a matter of company policy. I don't see why there are any surprises in this story.

Ryanair recommends using another airline if you're not happy. Very good advice which I wholeheartedly endorse.

So do I, more €10.99 flights for the rest of us.
  • Hi there,

Do you think a full refund would include the cost of the flight TO spain (ie the entire booking?) if you so wished. Not much point in getting half a refund for me.

If you booked the two flights under one booking I expect the answer is yes. But why not call and ask them, then you can pass on the answer as you're not the first to ask.

What about payments made with prepaid ryanair card?
How will we know the £ equivalent of the euro fee?
What about flights where the taxes were free when booked?

First there was a warning message on Ryanair, then another offering refunds, then the first message replaced this one, now all messages about Spanish tax have disappeared. Could it be that they are having a rethink?!

    And less profits for Ryanair.

For years people like you have rambled on telling people not to use Ryanair, yet their profits still continue to rise, massively bucking the trend against other airlines.

Seems like no one is listening to you ...

they are still awaiting confirmation from spain that the taxes will be backdated I think - although it is not clear when this will be.
