I've just looked at amazon books for something else and the top 3 kindle books are the three 50 shades books :D
And the 4th top book is the whole trilogy :rotfl:

Btw, just in case anyone doesn't know, you can download loads of books for free from amazon kindle and you don't have to have a kindle, we have kindle for PC.

The free books change all the time so keep checking. Just search for something in kindle books and sort by price, all the free ones come up first.

A search for "sex" brings up 22 pages of free books, I don't read them though, as I find something about reading on the PC makes anything un-erotic.
My fav that came up in the search just now was "My lover the Bigfoot"

Described as.When Ally and Julia take a break from teaching to hike through a Thai national park they quickly find themselves with much more than they bargained for.

As tourists play on the other side of the mountain the girls ignore the Lonely Planet, striking out on their own route. They soon learn why it's dangerous to stray from the path.

The girls are about to meet Bigfoot...

    ... And he's horny.

Which had me snorting my tea all over my screen and the OH and the kids coming in from the other room and asking why I was laughing so much :D

I haven't read the book. A number of people in RL were raving about it, so I went onto Amazon to check out the reviews. There are some that quote directly from the book and I thought it sounded dire! Then someone on fb posted a link to a blog review of it, so I started reading that instead and again it sounded rubbish. The blog writer clearly doesn't like it, so I wondered if I was being swayed. Today I stood and read the 1st page in Smiths and can now honestly say the blog writers opinion echoed what my own was. From the few page reviews I've read, I don't get what people like about Christian either. Stalker-ish at the beginning, cos you send someone an expensive 1st edition book with a note to stay away . He then wants her to sign a consent form. Is this so he can say when in the dock for sexual abuse "she agreed to it m'lord" and highly unrealistic, a virgin has an orgasm thru nipple fiddling..really????!!!!

:rotfl::T I want to read it now!
  • when I was reading book 1, my daughter leaned over and said, "what's that" during one of the sex scenes. I promptly had kittens  , then realised she was pointing at a word in her kobo and asking me for the definition rather than the definition of the unlikely scene I was reading...

further kittens when she sent me a text "is 50 shades freed the last in the series" a few judicious questions decided that she wasn't actually reading said books but had merely noticed me reading them and had no interest in them. :o

*wonders how to put a lock on kindle*

I must completely and irrevocably out of touch. I've never heard of these books, no-one I know has discussed them on Facebook, I've never heard of Twilight and have absolutely no idea what Twilight fanfiction might be or how it might be interesting.

I have a feeling I might not be missing much either.

I think I might prefer to stay loyal to writers of proper fiction. Badly-written American soft-!!!!!! or something masquerading as it ain't my thang

Going to get hanged for this no doubt, but the hype over this book is embarrassing.

Erotic fiction is hardly a new concept, this just seems like the Twighlight series for sexually frustrated Housewives.

Sounds like the sexually-frustrated housewives are going to continue to be frustrated from the descriptions of how poorly-written the "erotic" bits are!

if it's any consolation, I only heard someone mentioning Twilight the other day so had to google to find out what it was! My facebook is going mad with friends raving about it, and I work weekends in a supermarket where every second person seems to be buying it. A customer let me flick through her copy today and I have to say I was fairly horrified by what I saw in a 10 second flick through.

Another thing that I have heard mentioned is that the book is written by a woman - how would people feel if it was written by a man - hence the use of the author's initials I guess in the same was J K Rowling is marketed. A couple of reviews I have read have said that it's basically shoving the feminist movement back about 50 years, where women submit to men's desires. A few of the other reviews I've read seem to imply women will read the book and it will empower their sex lives in some way.

I'll avoid the hype and stick to my history books!
