Previously they have rung me and said unless I can cover the full payment then the shopping won't be delivered.
This is how I found out that they check you have the full amount before processing payment
ie: guide price pre promotions £250, guide price with promotions £199, Tesco won't deliver the shopping unless £250 is in the bank even though you only actually pay the £199.
I have never had shopping delivered before the money is taken until today. Ever.
Can you not phone the Tesco Home delivery helpline centre, to see if they can assist. They must have a policy to deal with this, as they won't want to lose the business of thousands of RBS group customers.
If not you will just have to do a smaller amount of shopping to tied you over. Could be worse, we could be at war and be on rationing. The comments I post are personal opinion. You've misunderstood me.
To 'book' the delivery (say on Wednesday) you need £2 in the bank.
On Saturday morning I've had tesco ringing to say there isn't enough in the bank because they have been 'checking' the bank for £30-£40 more than what it's actually going to cost.
Try it yourself, only leave the guide price in the bank and have lots of offers.
Huckster I did edit my earlier post, Tesco here (Bournemouth Extra) have had a computer crash, they did deliver my shopping but with no paperwork at all. I for one am glad they had a system error or I'd be sat here wondering what to do about it!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I got the impression that my house sale yesterday was completed by somebody physically walking some paperwork between banks, I didn't ask the details, but it must have been the money transfer document. Buyers had paid, money had left their account, it didn't appear in my solicitor's account ... until a physical person walked an actual piece of paper to where it was needed.
It didn't really bother/affect me as I was selling, but not buying and had a rental set up to go to ... so it was my buyer who would have been seriously in the shiite if it hadn't happened.0 -

There are always ways around these temporary problems, if people are willing to make the effort. There have been posts on this thread, where NatWest staff have offered to visit rival banks to pay bills, as the customer affected would be on holiday.
If people think these problems are bad, then there may be more problems ahead. I read recently that many thousands of computers worldwide have been affected by some new trojan virus that is difficult to get rid of. I can see at some point, that this type of problem will happen on a much bigger scale. So this temporary glitch, may provide some useful practice and enable workarounds to be perfected. The comments I post are personal opinion. well, was due 350 into the account today....and yes nothing! Boo. Have lots of food in the house to last a few days, but had planned on doing next weeks food shop as I work in the week. So now can't. Its also my bday today and was going to treat myself to a few bits and bobs, but now cant as we only have £50 left in account and need to hang on to that. So no pressies, no food shopping. and girls have a horse riding lesson later which will be £20 which I cant really justify out of our last remaining £50. BUM
Not in as bad a situation as many others I know but now feeling totally fed up.0 -
I'd planned on having my car MOT'd today as money due in Monday usually clears on Saturdays. That's not happening now but have a few days grace next week to get it done.
I luckily can do without my car if I can't get it MOT'd but I feel for those whose cars are their lifelines and can't put fuel in.
In addition I've yet to find a branch near me which is open the extended hours this weekend!
If you have proof you are due credits in, are they letting people withdraw or is it discretionary or internal score dependant or can you just request what's due to you?0 -

If your a regular and always pay thats probably why they have delivered it as they know they will get the money in the end.Previously they have rung me and said unless I can cover the full payment then the shopping won't be delivered.
