People need to be able to find solutions to the problems this is causing everyone. I've just had to pay to increase my OD as that is cheaper than charges for none paid DD's. What will those who don't have OD facilities do now?

They will give you cash but your account will go into minus funds until money clears in. Mines -£140 as I got cash in branch but have taken it back and my money hasn't gone in yet to cover it0 -

I just did a little experiment. I personally bank with Nationwide, but I'ev just this minute been out to the Natwest cashpoint and withdrawn some cash. Less than 10 minutes later I was back at my desk and checked my online banking with Nationwide and guess what? The cash withdrawal is already showing on my account.
So it seems that SOME of Natwest's systems ARE working. Am I being cynical when thinking how convenient it is that cash going out of their funds is still immediately tracked....?
IMHO, this is nothing to do with a technical glitch. Your case proves a point. You used a NatWest cash point and the transaction is showing on your Nationwide online account. This is because the money will come from Nationwide accounting systems. As far as I know, when you go ro a different banks cashpoint, it links directly to your own banks IT system.
I would suggest that there is some other issue going on at the moment, as a technical glitch would not normally take this long to resolve. I am not going to speculate, as the UK tax payer owns over 80% and I hope it is nothing that would cause RBS more problems. Having said that, this is going to cost RBS millions in compo and expense to sort it out.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Same here. I've spent all morning trying to sort out the mess, including having to pay my bank a fee to increase overdraft to ensure all bills are paid. This is disgusting! we don't even bank with NatWest and we are having all these problems. Ruined my day, like thousands I imagine. Do the banks care? NO.0 -
Bang goes Natwest bank, I reckon they'll announce theyve gone bust within a few days.0

Ah, thank you for your explanation - I didn't know that. Thanks for the lesson Huckster!0
