Rather a silly comment IMHO.0 -

Not a great idea, when the UK taxpayer owns over 80% of RBS and is about £40bn down due to the bailout.
If RBS were subject to a 'run', then I would expect that the government would have to buy the rest of the shares. They might have to put your taxes up as a result. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. Gratefull I have some money to live off I guess.
Me too. The OH went and took £100 out, this will do a food shop, put some credit on the gas and electric, put the petrol in the car and leave a few pounds for anything else.
Luckily my landlord is very understanding, as were the council suprisingly enough when I phoned to let them know the payment would be late. I've just got to keep electricity useage to a bare minimum until he comes home as he's out and about for work and stopped in at a branch as there isn't one local for me to visit without the car.Started comping 23/05/12Thankyou to everyone who takes the time to post competitionsWins: Pantera CD, Hunter Wellies0 -
With regard to those who said they have heard it won't be fixed until wednesday. Why do you think that is? I mean why such a specific day as wednesday?
According to Sky News, Natwest has said the problem will continue until at least Monday: http://news.sky.com/home/business/article/16251400:RBS Group has told Sky News that the technical glitch affecting NatWest and RBS accounts will not be resolved until Monday at the earliest.
The banking giant said in a statement: "We know that a system outage on Tuesday caused this backlog.
"While that outage has been resolved, the backlog itself is now the problem and RBS is working around the clock to resolve this."0 -
I have made a debit payment using a NatWest card and there was no problem. The NatWest validation thingy came up.
So there must be many transactions that are in the system being backed up, waiting for the system being gradually restored. RBS won't risk just turning the system back on 100%. This is going to take a number of days to get back to normal. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. Natwest's Saturday branches are opening until 7 tonight, 6 tomorrow and 9-12 Sunday. I think it says a lot for the staff.0

I've been on the phone to Natwest twice today who are still saying 'we hope it will be fixed by 5pm'. I kept pressurising them saying 'well what if it isnt'. Their cash advance system is now down - very unhelpful.
