We are with the Halifax and no wages, which should have gone in on Friday. DP's employers are the RBS and looks like no one in the firm has been paid yet.
Luckily we had the car insurance money put aside for today, so that kept us going over the weekend, but that should have gone out today and hasn't because his wages haven't gone in!
I rang insurance who weren't particularly helpful. Worried car insurance willl be cancelled! When wages do eventually go in I will incur both bank charges for the returned DD and also fees for the insurance not having gone out!
Oh and of course the phone calls to both the bank and the insurance company.St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0 -

RBS/NatWest have publicly stated that any fees will be refunded. They are suggesting that this will be automatic, but just monitor it.
They have also said that they "no-one will be out of pocket" so if you've incurred costs for phoning other suppliers, then contact them and make a claim. Is it worth it, though? I don't know, that's up to you.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Thank you.
Tbh it will be worth it, because I will be charged £10.00 by the insurance company and £10.00 by the bank. Not a massive amount I know, but money we can't afford to lose, especially when its not our fault, and if not for the above, why should they be allowed to get away with it? Its just a case of the banks making even more money out of us all if we don't claim.St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. Completely understand. I would, however, suggest that you let this fiasco die-down a little, but monitor the news, this site and the RBS website for details of how to claim - especially, as you are not an RBS customer but "an innocent third party" if you see what I mean.
This is not going to resolve itself quickly, so I think we all have to be a little bit patient and allow them (RBS) to (a) fix the problem (b) catch up on the backlog and (c) deal with the resulting issues - first for their customers and then others, like you, who've been affected.
Good luck - just be reasonable (unlike some of the irrational rants here and elsewhere) and I'm sure it will be resolved. The reputation of RBS is too precious for them to be exposed to any further damage!Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

BTW - by "credit" in to your account, your pay will be a credit. That's also on a file waiting to be loaded.
AIUI the technical issues relate to the loading (or batch processing) of a number of different data files. There's a piece of software (CA7) which controls the loading of files in the right order and it was a CA7 upgrade that fell over last week. This is why things which have happened like credits are not appearing in accounts - the process which loads that data in to the system is bu88ered.
In addition, what you see on online banking is not what's on the main accounts system. So although you may have "seen" the transfer from one account to the other online, what happens is that the transfer is first debited to the old account and then the credit has be processed to the new account - it's not showing up as the credit data file hasn't be posted to the main accounts system yet.
Hope it completes soon.
Just curious - how do you know this?0 -
Sky News show him refusing to say if he will turn down his ONE MILLION POUND bonus this year!!
Even though the article from January says that he will.
And............
That is on top of the potential £35.5million package he has enjoyed since he moved to RBS in 2008.
It is made up of pay, pension, bonuses, shares and a long-term incentive plan that is worth up to £4.8million a year, four times his £1.2million basic salary, and is due to start paying out from 2014 if he hits certain targets.
This is how it is calculated:- 2008: £4.99million in shares instead of pay and bonuses;
- 2009: £6.9million total package;
- 2010: £8.16million total package;
- 2011: £8.08million total package;
- 2012: £7.38million total, including up to £4.8million long-term incentive plan, salary of £1.2million, £420,000 in pension contributions and his bonus which was worth £963,000 when issued last week but was expected to top £1million as RBS shares rise in value;
- 2013: RBS have set aside £3.3million of shares for his bonus next year. The exact size will be decided this time next year.
Tally Ho!

In Martin's guide it says no consequental losses will be reimbursed so I assume this covers telephone calls.
As she isn't a natwest customer I can't see either banks refund the charges, Halifax are not at fault and Natwest will only look out for their own.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
