Just think of the poor s*ds who may be having to go through all the corrupted data manually.

I am presuming that the data corruption issue is not something that can be fixed very easily and there will still be people who will have problems for weeks to come. I have dealt with corrupted data files in financial services and it has required setting up new records, with new account numbers etc. I hope that people are not going to need new account numbers and debit cards, as this may be a bit inconvenient.

lots of problems are made worse by counter staff telling customers incorrect information and guessing in hope that the customer goes away and waits it out

I feel for those still waiting for money to go into their accounts and for people who are now locked out of online banking.

Good news from me though, I've just been on HSBC online banking and checked pending transactions, both CTC and Carer's Allowance are showing. Will check tomorrow to check for my wages which are due on Tuesday.
  • Lol did you get the 'pet shop boys' from natwest website?? I posted it in their idea bank as a link and they removed it so i had to write it in simple terms! They seemed not to notice! :)
  • My wages, which should have gone into my santander account (from Natwest) on Friday morning, are still missing. Thankfully my CTC has gone in so I will be able to pay my rent and DD's next week. What a nightmare this has been. I know alot of people in similar circumstances to myself (waiting for their wages) who rely solely on their wages and have had a very solemn weekend. I hope wages start to appear tomorrow or alot of my family and friends are going to start incurring charges and as they are non-natwest/RBS customers there is no saying they will get them reimbursed. Absolute nightmare situation.
  • Transfer from natwest still no where to be seen... hmmm...

Funny they notice things like you tube but fail to notice that your money is showing in your account and say you cant have any of it because the people that put it there may take it back
  • OK.
My balances were all restored, all fine.

Put £15 diesel in, tried to use my card, came up immediately as card blocked.
Luckily my Mum had lent me some cash just in case this happened.

Just bought something on eBay (car fuses for 89p- so not a major transaction) transferred money from current to first reserve to use card, keeps declining. I have the bank funding set up so used that with no problem.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

As a precaution, I am going to set up another bank account elsewhere and put some emergency contingency in it as well as restoring the emergency £15 I keep in cash in the house. I've yet to decide if I will move my accounts permenantly because up til now, I've had very good service from Natwest, in branch and on the phone. I feel somewhat annoyed still that Natwest were saying people could access their cash in branch but I was declined (benefit and previous sporadic self employd income), a note saying subject to status/score/criteria might have been a better bet but guess it doesn't look good for PR!
