Possibly, but we can't know. This would in fact be the worst possible outcome - the fear of all IT auditors and IT security staff. Forget malware and hacking - this would be bad - a slow corruption of data which works its way into your hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly backups. It also replicates to your BC sites. Its hard, if not impossible, to recover from.
But, personally, knowing what we do about RBS' irresponsible outsouring/offshoring - i still reckon its more likely someone has screwed up big time and there is insufficient experience and expertise left to fix the problem.
Either way, things are not well at RBS and Natwest.0 -

Nothing atall showing up! It was Thursday morning the apparent '' faster payment '' was made from my soliciters account After it not arriving within the 2 hours it allows i contacted Lloyds who told me they had been having a few probles with Natwest so to call them, I rang Natwest, thy didnt mention anythin about the problems they were having at the time, and told me to wait a little longer as they couldnt tell me anythig unless i had the bank account number and sort code... I then googled transactions with natwest and i found this forum! Since i hav rang them back but they cannot tell me anything more about it! I feel so sorry fo people who are struggling right now! Like it isnt hard enough to get by without all of this! I dont know what o do and there is no one there to ofr any support becuase i dont bank with Natwst!0 -

I tihnk its just a case now of people are really worried, and just want some honest answers about how long they have to wait, if they know then they can do their best to prepare but i did not think this would still be like this now! I thougt a few hours, maybe 24 at most! They just keep saying sorry! Not much point in that This could have been prevented by making sure they had the skilled staff, and checking everything properly! They have made peoples lifes hell and all we get is 2 minutes at the end of the news to inform us of nothing whilst every oter county in the world takes up the first half hour of the news!!!! Grrrr!!! (sorry! Got a bit annoyed there!)0
