just been on the phone to ulster bank and a team leader has just told me they have no time-scales when the problems will be fixed and back to normal and in her estimation could be middle of the week before this is resolved0

Glad I dont bank with natwest. however as the banks become more and more insolvent (you heard about the bank of england loaning high street banks 80 billion last week) these "glitches" will happen more and more. I advocate the purchase of real money, physical gold and silver bars and coins. This was money long before paper ever was. The banksters are also rigging gold and silver prices down to maintain the illusion everything is fine with their paper but i think we all know its not. Gold was £200 an ounce in 2000. Its now £1000. So if you bought an ounce of gold in 2000 it cost you £200. That ounce now buys you £1000 of stuff. What does £200 of paper from year 2000 buy you today once inflation over last 12 years is accounted for? about £80 of that £200 has been lost.
What a load of pointless and irrelevant drivel!
Ever tried buying a bag of spuds in Sainsburys and paying with a Gold bar? OR buying something online without having a bank account or credit card?
Changing banks won't guarantee to keep you trouble free, this could happen to any bank. Getting rid of your account and depending on Gold bars would not make one's life very easy IMHO!0 -

drivel is it?
do you remember zimbabwe? they destroyed their currency by printing so much of it that it became worthless. Have you heard about the debt problem the world is in? usa, europe uk? No growth in economy due to debt. Every time economy gets weaker they just create more currency in the form of debt, reducing its value, which is what happened in zimbabwe. They had to end up using gold to buy things in zimbabwe because the currency became trash. You will be aware of inflation in the uk and I bet you dont believe the government figure of 3.2%. Its look at fuel, gas, electricity, train fares. They are destroying the value of your money and you cant even see it.0 -

Saturday 23rd (2) 22:13
Summary
Same as earlier morning check.
Statement
All of Thursday transactions disappeared, bar ATM.
Friday transactions in/out are there.
Sunday 24th 15:26
Summary
Changed, and balances updated.
Friday in/out transactions still there.
Thursday transactions now reappeared but dated Monday 25th.
Statement
No Thurs or Fri transactions listed at all, not even ATM: it goes up to the end of Wednesday 20th only.
On every day so far, even when the Thurs TF to savings was showing on the current a/c screens, it hasn't showed up at the other end on the savings a/c summary, and it still isn't.
I'll check again later but am not really expecting too much will change till tomorrow.
very interesting.
Could it be they're in a fairly messy situation where they've restored a backup file, re-applied transactions, and now things dont balance at all and they're stuck retrying things to try to get to where they think they should be?0 -
Poor old Natwest, I can't imagine they'll have many customers left by this time next month!0

Which is a rather worrying situation considering the state of their balance sheet. Or should I say the state of it at the start of last week anyway.0 -
I apologise but I don't have time to read the whole thread, but does anyone know if debit cards are being accepted now? My son has is current account there.0
