    I liked this little piece I read:

    It was due to some debugging code left in by mistake that was really hard to find. Here is the code, it's obvious now where the problem was:-

    // var choice = getChoice();
    choice = 6;
    select (choice) {
    case 1 : runMoria()
    case 2: runBillProcessingBatch()
    case 3: runAtmNetworkBootup()
    case 4: runMaximizeMyBonusProc()
    case 5: sellGrannieSomeCDOsProc()
    case 6: translateAllInfo2HindiAndCallBangalore4Support()
    default: runThermoNuclearWarGame()
    }

    :)
    There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...

    Am I only person who still can't access online banking - generic message appears -
    Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    Have not had access since 9.30 am Friday. Is this part of Natwest problem, or am I having separate problem?

    Driving me insane!!

    Same for me. I got on very briefly around Fri lunchtime and haven't been able to get on again on either IE or Chrome and am getting the same error message as you. Thought it was just me as loads of other people seem to be getting into online banking fine!
    ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)

    Anyone else getting the distinct impression the media is very much being controlled by the government on this issue (BBC especially)?

    Also, why are the government so quiet on the issue? We should at least be hearing DC in all the media saying something along the lines of "Now is not the time for x,y,z, we must let them get everything back online and in order and then we'll see what changes need to be made" But no, nothing, even when its happened to the bank the government should have the most control and responsibility over.

    The media IS controlled by the govt, if you hadnt realised. Something else they arent telling you is the graveness of the fukushima situation. Remember that? Google it and see what you find and then begin to ask why its not being reported.

    Got my temp credit from RBS, managed to withdraw cash, and was also able to Faster Payment some online to my son (also RBS) who received it immediately, so things are improving slowly
    I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<3

    I think thats purely opinion rather than fact. My opinion is the media and the government work together, often doing favours for each other as the leveson inquiry is proving.

    However, my point is, on this issue, its far more blatant than usual that the media are being told what to say and not say on the issue.

    its not theirs, theyve actually not worked for it?

    Maybe instead of moaning about natwest go and maybe get a job?

    All of them?

    I worked for 20 years (with a fair few of those years as a high rate tax payer) before having to become a full time carer and thus, rely on benefits.

    Edit - I don't bank with Natwest so my benefits have not been held up (fingers crossed Santander don't have the same problem on Monday!) but my maintenance has been held up. Not too huge a problem for me as I have a good amount of food in my freezer plus I can draw on the bank of mum and dad for fuel for the car.
    We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
    Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    I am with RBS and my money still is not showing, and neither is the D/D for my car insurance coming out.

    NatWest seems to slowly be getting sorted, does anyone who banks with RBS still have issues?

    RBS gave us a temp balance to ensure we had some cash yesterday, though it took 3 phone calls of up to 50 mins each time.
    We still dont have the credits showing that were in there before though so still only got the cash they 'kindly(sic) gave us yesterday

    I really feel the news broadcasters are trying to down play this, at least for the time being. Could you imagine the wide scale panic if the news programmes ran with 'RBS group in meltdown fiasco?' Everyone with an account would be down to their branches faster than you can say 'government owned.' Probably a sure fire way to bring down a banking group regardless of how much government money they can throw at it.

    A bit OT, but may be interesting

    It's not OT to make democracy work for you. We own RBS and calling its bosses before a parliamentary committee is the only way to get the full facts. You won't get the full facts by relying on the media.
