Hi,hubby was accepted for 18 month 0% offer. Does anyone here know if he can do a balance transfer at any time in the 18 month offer period and still the get 0% rate or do you have to have made all your balance transfers inside a certain initial period?

from what i understand from the t&c and the summary box, ANY xfer placed on account during the initial 18 month period is at 0%.

This could possibly mean you could keep xferring back your min payment each month after you've paid it.

Does any one else know otherwise?

Can i just clarify something here.

When people say you've been offered a different card - i'd like to know

    A. How did you apply by leaflet or the online link. If it was the online link - when was this - as I noted the link was closed at one point and someone posted it elsewhere, yet by that point the site wasn't accepting new apps (which is why i'd deleted the links)

    B. Has anyone actually got the card - if so what method was used to apply for it with?

I applied for the 15mth card on 8 Apr. I have 2 CCs already (Both on 0%! what a moneysaver!) and what I think is at least an above average credit rating (although I haven't checked with Experian/whoever). I fulfilled all the criteria on the application form. But I still received a letter yesterday offering me the 6mth 0% card. I'm pretty p*ssed off about it! So I came on here and read what has confirmed my suspicions - that Capital One have used this basically as a carrot to get people into a short-term 0% scheme and make dosh out of us!

As one of my credit cards' 0% expires next month, I'm not sure whether I shouldn't just go ahead and take this Cap1 card anyway. What would people advise?

    Many thanks in advance :)

I applied way back when you first posted and was refused, they said because of my credit rating but offered me a 12.9% card which I applied for online and got!
Is that any help to you?

I checked with them on the phone when doing a BT and they confirmed no charges at any time during 18 months if I did more later - but she went off to double check, remarking that not all were the same. I suspect it's same for all 18 monthers, but probably best to check your own situation with them, just in case.
