MSE_Martin wrote:B. Has anyone actually got the card - if so what method was used to apply for it with?

I applied using the online 18month 0% link posted here last week. I also got the have to wait 10-14 days message.
This morning I have received the credit agreement to sign.
It is for the Capital One Platinum Mastercard with 0% for 18 months, credit limit of upto 25k.
So I guess not everyone is getting offered a different card0 -
Wow - a whole one person with 18months! You're a rare breed
I applied with the original 18 month deal link at the end of last year and got offered 6 months with a £4k limit which I accepted. (I even appealed and still just got 6 months.) I'm just stoozing so I'm glad I will have cost them money to look at my application again without them ever making a penny out of me0 -
I applied for 18 months through the link and got the 10-14 days message.
Yesterday I got a letter from them saying "no but you can have the 6 month deal with a £3k limit"
Still debating whether to go for it or not - time to find my trusty Excel spreadsheetCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Got mine this morning after the 10-14 day message. Applied via Martin's online link. (Many thanks)
Have been given the 18th month deal :j :T Mastercard Plat Deal. No mention of the credit limit though. I'll send away today.
Very happy indeed.0 -
I haven't got my decision yet but I did apply for the 18 month card last time (Oct/Nov 04) and got offered the 6 month card. I appealed against this and after waiting 2 months for a reply they eventually wrote back and asked me to ring them.
I did, and after answering a couple of questions the woman told me my appeal was successful but because the 18 month offer was no longer available, the best she could offer was 9 months. I was going to accept this but she then told me that my initial application had expired so I would have to reapply, which would put another search on my credit record! So I declined the offer.
For anyone who has had their decision, does the paperwork that comes with credit agreement for either the 6 or 18 month cards mention a BT fee?0 -
I applied using the online link given by Martin. Was offered the 6 month card instead of the 18 month card.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I applied for the 18 month 0% through the online link last week.
I got the 10-14 message.
A letter arrived yesterday, saying i was turned down for the 18 months (please refer to a CRA),but a credit agreement for the 6 month deal was enclosed(how kind of them).
So,what are we going to do?
Rip them up,or get the free money for a little while?
But do you think they have done credit checks on everybody who applied,i am a novice at this game, but i would not be suprised if they have not,i guess it would cost them money to do so.Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0 -
So excited as I got my acceptance this morning too and my Halifax runs out tomorrow so good timing :j
I only read the thread about 11.00 at night after Martin posted in the afternoon, so really didn't think it would come through.
Thanks Martin :A
oops forgot to say I got the 18 months with up to £25,000, I applied to balance transfer £1,900.0 -
I applied online for the 18th month deal shortly after Martin posted the link. I had the wait for 10-14 days. Today I had the papers - I was offered 12 months on purchases and 5.94% on transfers. When I rang (as I have no desire for this option) they denyed that 18 months was available (except by invite a few months ago) and the website thing was an error by another company.0

I think it's appalling that Capital One are denying the 18 month offer exists when loads of MSE'ers, myself included, have hard copies of leaflets. My opinion of capital One has swiftly gone downhill while reading these posts and, while I still have my leaflet (was keeping it until needed), am in two minds whether to actually apply as the whole thing seems a complete waste of time. What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!
DFD - WAS: a while ago
NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!0
