Strange, I did a faster payment on Sunday, and my balance was updated within 2 hours, and has been each time I've done it. I've each spent £350 one morning, made a faster payment and spent another £300 in the afternoon!
Might be because it was scheduled, so it went as a "Bill payment" as opposed to an FPO
Made two payments today. One earlier, and one not too long ago. They both made my available credit go up to £250, within the space of 2 hours0 -
Has anyone paid a full balance by DD yet? How did it go?
My first statement arrived, and it took me a while to find what they'll do regarding my DD (it's in the left column, nicely hidden under "Payment information"). The payment due date is the 3rd of December, and the DD payment date is also the 3rd of December. I guess the DD cycle goes like this: they post the request on the 29th of November (Thu), my bank processes it on the 30th (Fri), then there's the weekend, and money gets out of my account on Mon (which means I can be Scrooge and not withdraw savings until Sun).
What's weird is the fact that they're taking the money out on the deadline date. My prior experience is with CapitalOne: they make the DD come out about 3 days early (with the exception of this month, where the DD is set to come out tomorrow at the earliest - within 3 working days of tomorrow they say - so I guess it comes out Monday instead, 1 day short of deadline, as it's not in my pending transactions list today).
What I'm worried about is that there may be a corner case involving DDs and bank holidays where the DD may be taken late if the CC companies aren't diligent enough to make sure that doesn't happen, ending with late payment charges and whatnot. As far I can tell, I'm still responsible for the payment reaching them in time, even though I set up a DD.0 -
To be honest, as long as it says on your statement that "Payment will be collected by direct debit", its fine. I've had direct debits collected late, and Aqua don't care. Its like this with my Tesco and AA card as well.0

I originally got the card in July and got an Initial £250 limit.
I got a letter last month stating as I had managed my card well the limit would be increasing to £600 which is not too bad considering the website says must wait 6 months before applying for a limit increase.0 -

Unrelated to the Aqua card, but at least I know that my Capital one will be collected... one day0 -
The Aqua card appears to be processed by the same people as the Clarity card. Both my Clarity and Aqua DD's were collected on the due date, unlike Capital One who take it 3 days before the due date.0

Lol. Capital one still haven't taken what I owe them. Halifax are the people behind the clarity card and it's Halifax that underwrote the agreement, and it's HBOS who you talk to when you call CS, so I'd expect every thing to be done by HBOS0 -
I received my first paper statement. Two questions:
1) It states "direct debit date 7th December", "direct debit amount 112.55£". I already repaid that amount, will they get those money by direct debit anyway?
2) Am I paying to receive the paper statement? Should I switch to online-only somehow?0 -
I just received an automatic increase in my credit limit from £500 to £750, which applies from next month when the account will have been open for 6 months.0
