Do they let you set up a direct debit with aqua also are they likely to reject your application if you have a good credit history (i.e clearing balances monthly and not profitable for them)?

Yes you can set up a DD for repayments if you wish.

No, based on the feedback in this thread, if you have a good credit history you are likely to be given a card with the higher, £500 initial credit limit. :)

Will Aqua charge me if I don't spend anything on their card one month or if i stop using it all together?

No, there is no monthly charge (or other charge for non-use).

As others say, if you don't use the card after an extended period they may elect to close the dormant account.
In my experience with other cards, this is typically reviewed when the card is due for renewal (so will cost them to issue a replacement). Again in my experience with other cards, they will often write to you to alert you to what they are considering and allow you to start reusing the card to ensure a replacement is issued. My first card is valid for just over 3 years :)

If you really do not wish to hold the account open, you can always close the account (assuming you've repaid all the borrowings) without charge:)

Has anyone been successful in obtaining an increase in their credit limit yet?

I've seen a couple of posts (maybe elsewhere) that suggests the odd person has already been given a credit increase
(but I am also aware anyone can post anything on the internet ;))

Generally, they say you need to have been a customer for at least 6 months before they will consider a credit increase.

Spot on, waiting for the forms now :)

  • Both me and my other half received letters yesterday informing us that our credit limits will be increased in 40 days time:)

Will make things a lot easier for paying for more expensive items.

Yeah I've already got £30 cashback, I might need to get another card when I reach the upper limit lol.
  • Opened the account in June and have also had a letter stating my credit limit will increase to £500 from £250 within 40 days.

Spose that's not *too* bad, because at least you get some increase, even if it is still pretty abysmal
