No this isn't correct in general.
    I'm paperless for CapitalOne.

I don't know if Aqua offer a paperless facility though and certainly don't provide all info on-line.

My AA (MBNA) and Tesco CCs are online only. All I get is an email saying "Your latest statement is now available for download".

When I setup my DD with Aqua, they told me on the phone that regardless of what I paid manually, they would always take the amount specified on the statement.

You are both correct. Capital One actually tried to get me to go paper-free again tonight.

One of mine definitely stated that they had to send out a paper statement and I'm wondering if it was the Halifax Clarity as they don't have a facility to download a pdf statement.

Since Aqua has a cashback limit of £100, here is another card to consider, with large purchases of Christmas and New Year in mind.

6% welcome bonus on five biggest monthly purchases.
Up to £120 cashback in the first three months. :)
After that only 2% cashback on five biggest monthly purchases.

Annual fee of £24 from year two (if not cancelled in time). Paperless statements only. Lower APR than Aqua.

Not as simple to operate as Aqua, CapitalOne, Halifax Reward but good for large purchases of the month.

As you point out, there is an annual fee of £24.

The standard cashback rate is 0.5% UNLESS you make at least 15 qualifying transactions per month every month.

    Oh, and it's Barclays.

I have considered it and immediately rejected it. ;)

looks as if you picked on the negatives, missed on how to avoid the annual fee of £24 and make use of the 6% cashback and earn £120 in just 3 months

Er, no. You already mentioned the £24 fee. :p The minimum number of 15 transactions per month to get the 2% discount on 5 transactions is indeed a negative IMO.

The online summary box claims that there is no annual fee. This is probably wrong as the blurb mentions a £24 fee which you can avoid by earning enough cashback to cover it. :rotfl:

Anyway, the Aqua card - what this thread is supposed to be about ;) - offers a higher cashback rate with no annual fee and without the need to make at least 15 transactions per month.

Further discussion of the Barclays card is irrelevant IMO.

No Sir! You got the facts wrong!

    Quotes from Barclay Card website:
"Meet the only card that says hello with a 6% welcome bonus on your five biggest monthly purchases. You can earn up to £120 cashback on these during your first three months"

"And for a limited time the annual fee for the first year of taking out the card will be refunded.
There is an annual account fee of £24 from year two."

Hope that is clear enough :D

In your earlier post, quote, "Oh, and it's Barclays"
You may have an axe to grind with Barclays but that is not a negative for the rest of us ;)

Since Aqua has a cashback limit of £100, this is another card to consider, with large purchases of Christmas and New Year in mind.
