Has anyone who is new to credit been accepted for this card? My son has just come back from studying in the US and would like to build his credit.0

@ 'reclusive46' and 'renifer7'
There are loads of cards for credit building

Understandably, APR is high with these type of cards.
Much higher credit limits than Aqua but others in this catagory do not give cashback.0 -

Just got my card, best way to boost credit rating on it? Spend lots of individual little transactions or one or 2 big ones? or vary them?Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0

Does anyone know if I receive a refund, does that count as a payment
i.e. to clear statement balance in full can I deduct the refund or do I still need to pay the full statement balance.
I have asked Aqua but you guys will probably be 2-3 ays quicker.
I understand companies operate diferently on this.
I had the exact same scenario last month and they still take the statement balance in full, regardless of any subsequent credits (whether it's a refund or a payment).
So, for my Sept statement, statement balance on 20 Sept, say £306 due for direct debit collection in early October.
on 22 Sept, I had a refund of £25 from Tesco
on 23 Sept, I made a FP of the full amount (£306) to clear the limit for new spending and this credited the account the next day.
In early October, the DD still went out for the full £306, which meant I was in a temporary credit situation for a few days until other transactions hit the account.
On a separate note, has anyone else noticed how long it takes for transactions to show up on the online listing? I know the available balance updates immediately but I'm surprised it can take 5+ days sometimes to appear on the list. And there's also usually at least 2 days between the transaction date and the posting date whereas my other cards are typically much quicker in processing transactions.0 -

Same for everybody but at least the balance is up to date !!0 -
Yes, I'm not knocking the card because I'm pleased to have the £100 but the on-line interface leaves an awful lot to be desired.0
