Pleased to report I got accepted (need to send proof of ID) with a 250 limit as far as I understand.

I used to be, but I just changed addresses and there's a very slim chance the elct. roll had been updated to reflect the change before my Aqua decision has been made

Was your total annual spend, over £3333.00p or over £3333.34p ?

    Over.
I like being an ardent MSE and saving money but I'm not a pedant in most cases :-)
I do now need to switch cards though but be careful not to let it go dormant.
  • Well I got accepted and my credit agreement was sent to me to sign and return (That's done now)

BUT I still don't know my limit, is that all normal?

Got mine today, with a limit of 250.

My other CC is a secured one, so my score isn't brilliant. I got that other one because I was rejected for this one (and Tesco's, which I still desire, for the points at the fuel pump). I reapplied for the Aqua Reward because they sent me a letter saying "hey, apply again, maybe your circumstances changed and we can give you one now" (and Tesco sent me an email to the same effect, just a few days back). And they did. Difference now is that I've been on the electoral roll for a few months. Haven't had the other card for long enough to boost my credit score, and only had one statement paid off when I re-applied for the Aqua (the second statement payment went out two days ago, long after my Aqua acceptance).

I'm writing this here just in case some people want to go "hmm", just like I did. :) If I get the Tesco one as well, it will be an even bigger "hmm", given that I'm self-employed, never had credit in this country before, and I rent. That electoral roll thing really matters it seems.

Now... only to activate this card... have to go through humans... which went to sleep... Registering for their online service didn't seem to mind that my card wasn't activated yet.

If you applied online you should have seen an "estimated" limit. If not, no idea. My credit limit is at the top of the letter that had the CC itself glued to it. You'll know when you receive yours.

You had an estimated limit when you applied. Your limit was also specified on the agreement you signed. Lastly, its included with your card.

I only have a £250 limit but really need a bigger one.. most of my other cards allow up to £4500 although I always repay so I never pay interest charges

I overspent by GBP5 on 10th September but has not yet been charged for overspending. Do you think they might not have taking that into consideration seeing that my direct debit came out of my bank on the same day? Although it only appeared on the statement the next day?

Only a guess but I expect their computer systems do not show discretion and the charge will appear when the statement is generated.
You may be able to get it reduced or waived if you ring up and plead with them if it's a first offence. You may lose any cashback though.
