I haven't read the last few pages but I have been told on a fortnightly basis that my cashback has been applied to my account and I will receive my cheque within a week!!

So bloomin frustrating! I asked how I could complain and the lady said she would do it for me and I would receive a written response in the post???

What exactly would you be complaining about?

Presumably your anniversary date is several months away, so whatever happens in any case you're getting your cashback earlier than expected.

This is correct although somewhat irrelevant I believe. When they decided to close the offer and my account they told me that they would send cashback once this had been done. And I have had to chase it every fortnight to be told the same thing every time. If they had said to me upfront that I wouldn't get the payment until my official anniversary I would've been a bit miffed but at least I would be aware. The fact that I am told the same thing every time I call, is somewhat annoying. And costly for an 08 number!

It does of course all depend on exactly when an account is "closed".

January 22nd was not the date your account was closed. That's just the date you were no longer allowed to make purchases on your account.

For some people if they hold a balance on their account, then the account may not be closed for many months.

I personally wont consider my account "closed" until I get my final March statement showing no purchases, no remaining balance, and no payment due.

I've already received my cashback before that point, as has everybody else. So as far as I'm concerned there is nothing to complain about.

I decided to keep my card active so I could benefit from the free non sterling transaction fees and still earn 0.5% on those occasional purchases. Because of this my existing cashback is being carried over till the next yearly anniversary. However on my first new statement since the card carried on I have not recieved any new cashback on the statement- just a listing of my old existing cashback! Is this likely to be another glitch like the earlier one where they removed all the cashback earnt on the statement? Anyone else continuing with their card? Is there any e-mail address you can contact them or do you have to phone and suffer the endless menus and cost!

    cheers

As far as I read it, my account closed on 22 January Therefore I ensured I paid off any balance before this date so that everything was up to date.

As I said, my complaint is not that I haven't yet received the cash back, it is the fact that I have been told every time I have phoned that it is on its way to me via cheque.

To reiterate my previous post, if they had told me previously I had to wait until such a date, I would not have been so bothered, and would have saved money by not calling their number every time a failed promise did not come to fruition!

I asked to speak to a manager because I am fed up of the runaround and unsurprisingly, there were none available. That's when I was told how the complaints procedure works - in that my complaint would be addressed by post. This, I think is very frustrating.

    Well that's simply not true.

You stopped being allowed to make purchases on the account on 22 January. No payment was required on the account until you received your next statement, and arrived at your next payment date. Exactly the same as usual over the last however many months.

The cashback is on its way to you by cheque.

    Just have some patience.

Most other people don't seem to have felt the need to phone them up so many times or get so worked up.
