  • New to MSE - but had the Aquacard for quite a while, mainly for the 3%. Always payed off the full amount each month and stopped spending when the 3% ended. Didn't fancy their new card so ignored the letters about the new card and signed up to Amazon 1% (or 2% on Amazon) card.

Was casually wondering about my cashback - I'm owed the full £100
Like others here I've since had confusing letters even though I ignored all responses to the new card.

Looking on the ever poor and still glacially slow website it says
    07-Feb-14 10-Feb-14 LOYALTY AWARD -£100.00 CR
I can't spend with the card (cut it up when 3% ended) and don't really want to anyways - am I being optimistic to think a cheque will come...or should I fight with them on the phone, only to be fobbed off as others seem to have been here.

You're going to get a cheque. Just be patient.

Your situation's same as mine, I still haven't had a cheque either, but when I rang them months' ago I was told that I wouldn't get it until the anniversary of account opening (which in my case is October). However, others on this thread have said that a cheque should have been posted. We'll see, if I haven't heard anything from them in a month or so I'll write to them. Not going to bother ringing as info given from CS phone calls isn't always reliable (mind you come to that neither is correspondence!).

    Hi,

I rang their customer service and was told that I need to send a copy of my passport in to get my cheque?!! what a joke?

It seems others here haven't got their cashback either. What are peoples hopes on them actually paying out without a big fuss?

I wish I could share your confidence Hooloovoo. What makes you think they will without making it difficult?

What do you mean by difficult? The cashback will come, and I don't think waiting for a cheque is going to be difficult. That's what they said they are doing in everything they sent to their customers.

That does sound like a joke. I would ring back and speak to somebody else. Act like it's the first time you called and ask the same questions again. You'll be surprised at the differences in response!

I doubt they want to see your passport.

Because they will. Of course it all depends on your definition of "difficult".

Even if it takes another six months you'll get a cheque eventually. Is waiting really that difficult? Are you that desperate for the money? You wouldn't have got it until your anniversary date in any case, so for many people they'll still be getting the cash "early".

Waiting isn't the difficult part, I was just a bit confused when their customer services told me to send a copy of my passport in making me think there might be extra hoops to jump through instead of them just sending a cheque.

    Let's wait and see :)

Has anyone actually had a cheque yet?

Edit: Do we know anything about the financial strength of the company behind Aquacard? With the accounts in credit is the £100 now protected by the FSCS?
    I think....
