Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

Edit: Do we know anything about the financial strength of the company behind Aquacard? With the accounts in credit is the £100 now protected by the FSCS?
I wouldn't have thought the likes of Debenhams, House of Fraser, Laura Ashley, Topshop, Topman, Burton, Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Outfit and Harvey Nichols would have agreed to allow them to take over their store cards from 1st Aprirl if they are about to go belly up
I don't think credit balances on any credit card accounts are protected by the FSCS.0 -
I received a voicemail from Aqua asking me to call them back about my account. I have had it confirmed closed my a prior call and have been awaiting my cashback. At the time of the last call I did ask for my positive balance to be moved to my bank account but this has not materialised.
I have cut up the card already. I have also checked my online account and nothing suspicious going on there.
Anyone have a clue what it might be about? I would just ring up but no time due to being at work.0 -

To quote a recent post on a similar theme, I will answer your question with another question: somebody just phoned my house, do you know who it was?
Nobody can tell you what they wanted.I wouldn't have thought the likes of Debenhams, House of Fraser, Laura Ashley, Topshop, Topman, Burton, Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Outfit and Harvey Nichols would have agreed to allow them to take over their store cards from 1st Aprirl if they are about to go belly up
Most of these firms are part of one group so there's not as many companies switching as you think. But your point still stands.0 -

Slightly odd, no time to ring but enough time to post on an Internet forum.0 -
I've just had a call from Aqua
It started off being a response to my complaint that I did not recognise the final 4 digits of the account number they recently contacted me about.
They said that was the account nuumber which was different to my card number, but then they quoted the last 4 digits of my card number, so they are linked.
But they went on ...
The account is now closed as I did not respond to their earlier communications inviting me to apply for a new rewards account - the one that only gives 0.5% cashback. They said they could see there was a credit balance on the account (That's because they have added cashback, etc since I settled their last bill)
So they said they would send that to me today, via bank transfer - they just needed my bank details (sort code & account number).
Now waiting to see if anything arrives. I'm not holding my breath though.0 -

Did you have a direct debit setup? Since I would assume they would have your account details if you did. But this is Aqua0 -

No, there was no DD set up hence why I needed to give them some account details.
Nothing turned up in my bank account yet.
And I've written to them again as I disagree the account number differs from the card number - dug out the original credit card agreement I received with my card and that has the same account number as the card.0 -
I've got a new transaction on my online account today, "CREDIT BALANCE REFUND", debiting the exact amount I'm in credit by.
So, hopefully, that means they've finally sent out the cheque today. Hopefully.0
