Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

I didn't renew my card but now need to cancel a purchase (a game pre-order) made before 24 Janueary. What happens when the money is refunded to the card? Is it sent to me in a cheque? I have already fully paid off the balance and am awaiting my cashback cheque.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Who did you order from?
Most reputable firms (like Amazon) will not take any money for any order until the item is ready for dispatch.
If the money has already been taken from your account, then a credit may not be possible now the account is closed. I would speak to the supplier if the money has already been taken.
If you ordered in store rather than online, which would usually have resulted in the money being taken, then you could always provide another card for the refund. By doing this, it won't affect any cashback earned either
(Just ensure the card you offer for a refund credit is not any form of cashback/reward card else you will lose out on that card)0 -
has anyone received their cashback cheques? anyone know whats goin on with the new terms and conditions being sent to with 3% cashback in the terms?0

Wow the Aqua website is horrendously slow today. Took a few minutes to load my account. Anyway, my final DD went out today. Account balance is £0, cashback was credited earlier. No cheques, no mess.0

Not yet. I guess there is always tomorrows post, but I think the chance of getting a cheque this week is looking decidedly unlikely.
As I've said before, take anything Aqua tells you on the phone with a pinch of salt.0 -
Received letter from Aqua after sending online message about missing cashback:Having reviewed your account I can confirm that your transactions dated between 19 - 21 February were charged at 0.5% instead of 3%. Please be advised that I have credited your account with the missing cashback amount of £8.99. I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
Yes, it says FebruaryAlmost typed that myself when I wrote the message. There aren't any transaction in February that would have added up to that kind of cashback.
Online statement says "credit gesture of goodwill" of this amount.
And the Aqua website is almost working today, if you have the patience
Oh... and I found out the account number with this letter. It contains it in full. It's also three digits longer than a credit card number, albeit the first three digits are all zeros. Taking the zeroes away, the number passed validation. Should I expect a new card?
Fun fact: without the leading zeros the number starts with 39, which Wikipedia says is Diners Club International.0 -

Gosh 2nd class takes a long time these days! so I guess they lied...................Having a Consumer Holiday 2015:A0 -
I spoke to Aqua last Saturday, and the customer service adviser, assured me that last week, they collated all details and wrote all the cheques, and they where all in the post on Friday (that's what they where told to say, she said)
I don't think 2nd class post takes a week, yet - so I presume that it's either been lost, or it's not been posted on Friday.
Has anyone got their cheque yet?Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -

I don't know, it's unlikely they are going to go down the local post office with a sack full of letters containing cheques. If it's anything like the companies I've worked for in the past, once you've submitted a letter for 2nd class posting, it can take 7 - 10 days to reach the recipient. Heck, if we said we had posted a letter on a Thursday, it wouldn't even get picked up until the following Tuesday, and so would normally arrive at its destination by the following Thursday. 1st class was quicker, but could still take several days. If you wanted next day delivery, you had to get sign off from a manager as it was a huge cost increase (I think it was about £4.95 for a single letter)0 -

Wow! That's different, when we post stuff at work, it all goes via TNT post, which takes a little longer, but normally, if I send something on a Monday, it will be received on the Thursday normally - but obviously all organizations are different.Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -
Yup, something to do with quantity of mail being cheaper to sort and process.
Always sounded weird to me, I was always thinking "They have to come every day anyway to deliver mail, why not just collect at the same time?" but apparently that wasn't not possible. Urgent stuff had to go through TNT, DHL or Citylink (again, depending on existing post). One nice thing though was that all the staff got free post as long as they didn't abuse the privilege as it was apparently cheaper than raising an invoice.0
