Just received mine today, says 3%.

I wonder if we are all getting different T&Cs, that could be a logistical nightmare for them.0 -
Got my cashback on the last day before I would've been charged interest:
21 Feb 1421 Feb 14LOYALTY AWARD-£62.22 CR
21 Feb 1421 Feb 14PAYMENT RECEIVED - THANK YOU-£60.00 CR
Dammit. So do I need to call them up to release the credit as a £60 cheque? =/0 -
Just got the idea that if you chose to take their 0.5% card your account's database entry was updated to reflect the new value, but if you chose not to the value remained unchanged. Then these new terms got printed with whatever your value on your account was. The problem with this line of thought is this: if they didn't update the cashback value on your accounts, then how did they manage to give you 0.5% on the 21st? Must have printed these before then... *Checking date on letter* 18 February... nope... it didn't take the scenic route.
I have no explanation for the non-matching 4 digits of the account number - unless everybody got 7054, or the fact that at least my card now has a XX% APR... I doubt it that they're using Roman numeral now - that would be a decrease in the APR
The Aqua Saga continues...0 -
Hmmm... interesting.
So it appears, unless anyone has contradictory evidence, that those who agreed to the new 0.5% cashback deal have this reflected in their new revised terms, and those who didn't have got new revised terms with the original 3% cashback still included.
My guess is that Aqua have made a new account (as they said they would) for those who accepted, and subsequently got accepted for, the 0.5% cashback deal.
But they've also created new accounts for us that didn't agree to 0.5% cashback, albeit at the 3% cashback rate, although I don't understand on what authority they could do this.
This would explain the new account numbers
As regards the XXX% etc, this is clarified at least in the letter to those who have not accepted the new 0.5% cashback offer.
The last paragraph of the letter says:
If you have any questions about these changes
Please note that we have omitted the interest rates, APR and total amount payable from this copy of your terms and conditions. Your interest rates and APR have not changed and remain the same as those we last communicated to you, which will either be those on the agreement when you entered into it or in the last letter we sent to you telling you about a change we were making to your interest rates...
I would have thought this was on everyones covering letter? Perhaps someone who has accepted the 0.5% cashback deal could check and verify please?
With regards to transactions posted on 21 January, it seems that those who accepted the 0.5% deal earned cashback on that transaction at 0.5%. I, who did not accept the change, earned no cashback at all.
This would coincide with what Aqua told me, that they switched at start of 21 January - the only trouble is the notice they sent out last year specifically states it would be transactions from 22 January that are affected - transactions up to and including 21 January should be paid at 3% cashback so please don't lose out anyone.
Finally, the only bit that doesn't make sense to me as someone who did not accept the new 0.5% offer is term 8 which states the agreement has no minimum or fixed duration ... and these terms are not effective until 01 April 2014. As far as I am aware, according to the notice by Aqua sent last year, Aqua closed my account on 22 January.
They said:
"Following a review of our products, we will be withdrawing the existing aqua Reward Card on 22 January 2014. This letter is to give you notice that we will close your account on that date and you will not be able to make any new purchases using your card from that point. However, you will still be required to repay any outstanding balance in line the account terms and conditions...."0 -

Errr.... yeah, it says that on mine too. I got bored by the time I turned the page and never reached that question as I assumed it was the usual "If you have any questions, please bin them... we mean, send them to this address or call us".0 -
Received my £100 credit today. The customer adviser confirmed all payment will be sent to the customer before the 10th March..

Just thought I'd add my experience of getting my cashback.
Like others I was using the card to the end, and my final transactions hit my account on 20 & 22 Jan. The cashback credited on the Feb statement was short by £12.40, so it seemed that cash back had not been given for these 'late' transactions. I waited to see if this was corrected when the cashback was credited to the account - it was credited on 21/02/14 and was exactly the amount shown on the Feb statement, i.e. still short of £12.40.
I called them today to query this. The guy referred to his supervisor and then offered £10 goodwill credit. He tried to argue that the transactions entered on 20 and 22 Jan did not qualify for cashback. I argued the point with him out of principle (stating my letter stated 22 Jan was the deadline date) and asked to speak to the supervisor. At this point, he agreed, but asked me how much I thought I was short. He then came back stating the supervisor would now offer £20 as a goodwill credit to resolve the issue, which I accepted.
I logged on to my online account a few minutes later to see that the 'available balance' had increased by £20, so they seem to have stuck to their word.
By the way, I have other cashback cards so have NOT taken up the offer of a 0.5% card.0 -
I was expecting a cheque for my cashback as I have not taken up the offer of the new 0.5% card but upon checking my account today I notice that I have a £100 cashback credit showing.
Now, it is my understanding that my Aqua card is now closed so I cannot actually spend the £100 credit. I just tried to buy an Amazon gift card and the payment was declined.
What am I supposed to do now to actually get the £100?
Edit: I must have misread something previously, I thought that the account would just be closed and I would be sent a cheque for the cashback as per the last statement. I did not expect it to show online.
Now to wait for the cheque...0 -
I got exactly the same letter and terms and conditions as you this morning, I didn't ask to change to new 0.5% card. I think I'll try to use it to see if it works, if it doesn't I do not understand the point of this letter?
Yes I got one too, no idea what is going on and the date I am due to receive my cheque keeps moving. If they offered a 10% cashback in future I would not even bother to apply.:mad:0 -

I agree they are a shambles, but does waiting a couple of weeks for cashback really justify chucking away £100.
We all have a choice, but I think most would take the cashback even if there is a small hassle. After all many have managed with small credit limits.
My credit came before my payment was due so apart from a little checking, it didn't really put me out at all.0
