Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

Especially when there is £100+ at risk
The £100 has already been credited and the account has zero balance.
So physically they cannot get it back or withhold it.
I think the risk of them suing me to get their cashback is negligeable.
I don't owe them any money.
I can see you point about keeping to terms and condition but I don't think they apply in this context i.e. zero balance.
Anyway I'll be sure to let you know if they sue me for not making a minmum payment when I didn't owe them any money :-)0 -

I presume they meant that the £100 was at risk because there is no cashback if you miss a payment. Considering that they've already given it however, I'm not sure if they could reverse it. Although seeing as there is 0 balance, they'd have to chase you for it, and I wouldn't have paid if I were in your situation. 0 balance means nothing to pay.0 -

Not unless they sue me.I wouldn't have paid if I were in your situation
I agree with you and I'm prepared to take the risk.
I really can't see them taking me to court, but if they want to then I have the name of the person I spoke to and the date and the time and I'll be asking for the recording (which they may of course not have).
Actually the lady I spoke to thought I was crazy for even asking (not that her opinion is important).
I think the law does generally apply reasonableness so I don't think they would enforce this clause in the situation of zero balance and a closed card.
Oh and of course the minimum payment on line was updated to Zero.
Thanks for all the advice which I appreciate but I think the chances of them suing me are negligeable.0 -
Well I've received another statement telling me my cash back is now zero and my account balance is now my cash back amount. It would have been too easy to include the cheque wouldn't it?
So what now, receive the cheque with another statement saying the account balance is now zero? Or receive another statement saying my statement balance is now zero and that a cheque will be sent within 2 weeks?
I'm going to guess on the later0 -

Just opened my letter from them hoping for the cheque, but alas the same as you Gromitt. Hopeless they are. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Daft question, but has the application period for the new 0.5% card completely expired now?
It has occurred to me that I no longer have a card with zero foreign transaction fees. I don't think any of the current cards that offer that also have any cashback?
Kinda wish I had applied for the card now, even though the offer was clearly poor compared to the original.0 -

The Nationwide Select card offers 0.5% cashback on UK purchases and perfect exchange rates, but you need to have a Nationwide current account. Not sure if it has to be the FlexAccount.0 -

Thanks. I do have a Nationwide FlexDirect account but I don't particularly want any more Nationwide products.
I think I will get a Post Office card for foreign use - £45 cashback on TopCashBack!0 -
The Nationwide Select Card gave 2% cashback for the first 90 days when I applied but they've stopped that offer for new customers.0

Anyone checked the calculation of their 3% Cashback Earned on their January 2014 Statement? I only had purchases up to 21st January but it calculated at about 2.5% as opposed to 3%. 3% was supposed to end on January 22nd 2014.0
