    etc

Other companies' T&Cs will be near enough the same.

So Barclaycard give proper advance notice.

As this thread refers to Aqua, perhaps you could point me in the direction of the "near enough the same" term?

And why would I want to do that?

Should I be upset that they've taken less money than they said they would?

Because it's your right under the terms of the DD Guarantee.

So you think it's better to pay a smaller and unknown amount, rather than get a full refund of the amount incorrectly taken?

That is, of course, your choice, but the DD Guarantee is there for anyone so affected and not wishing to have amounts taken that differs from the Advance Notice given :)

In light of the comments earlier that some people said their cards are still working, I attempted a purchase for £10 on my now closed card and it has been declined.

Yes, considering it benefits me and is convenient.

Got my final statement. Total cashback was way short of what it should be so I called them up. Took them a while to figure out what happened but it turns out my 3 transactions made on 20/01/2014 weren't "processed" until the day after, which meant the cashback wasn't added.

They've credited my account with the difference immediately (taking into account subsequent rounding down of cashback) so it's all sorted. They did say they're going to start crediting accounts with cashback from Monday, so it looks like I won't have to faff around with a cheque.

I'd advise others to check their cashback amounts if they made payments near to the cut-off date of 21/01/2014.

Thanks. Double checked mine today and saw there was some cashback apparently missing

Gave them a call earlier and they said they would give me a £5 credit (which was more than the cashback I thought was missing)

Just checked my online account and I have the cashback/loyalty credit as per the statement plus a goodwill credit of £5.00 :j

I chose to keep the account, but reading previous comments I double checked the letter I received today about new Terms and Conditions.

The account number is wrong in my case too.

The terms do say 0.5% cashback.

Some numbers on the agreement say XXX: XXX% APR (variable), XX% per anum for balance transfers, XX% per anum for cash advances, XX% per anum for purchases, total amount payable for a 1200 pound loan: XXXX pounds.

And of course they gave me only 0.5% cashback for the transactions I made on the 21st of January. Unlike you, I didn't call. I sent them an online message about it during the weekend. I wonder what they'll say (they always respond by letter when I do this).

... or is this an early April Fools joke by Aqua?

and perhaps the most important one:

11.1 There is 3% cashback on purchases
(not not cash advances, money transfers, balance transfers, interest, charges, etc - see 11.2)

That's interesting. Mine sats "You may earn 0.5% cashback on purchases". I moved mine over to the new terms as I like to use Aqua for international payments as their rates are always excellent and always seem to be better than my N&P Debit Card.

I thought Aqua decided to terminate my account according to the correspondence I received last year since I did not sign a new agreement. Indeed last week it was confirmed my balance was £0.00 and now I see on my online account (access appears to have returned) that the cashback due is credited to my account. I was also told last week I should be receiving a cheque this week.

So I was pleased when I got a letter from Aqua this morning, thinking it would be my lovely cheque.

No, it's new terms and conditions effective 01 April 2014.

Essentially it's to advise a change of name of the provider from Progressive Credit Ltd to NewDay Ltd (they are also changing their address w.e.f. 01 November 2014)

But as is usual, they use the opportunity to update a few other terms. I think the important ones for me are:

    8. The agreement has no fixed or minimum duration.

17.2 They can end the agreement with 2 months notice, but also immediately requiring full refund for a breach of terms. e.g. you miss a payment.

17.4 They can end the agreement with 2 months notice if you don't regularly use the card
(so no more earning £100 cashback in first week and putting card in drawer for next 51 weeks)

22.2 Statements will be electonic ... but you can choose to receive paper ones via the settings on your online account
    (anyone know where this is?)

and perhaps the most important one:

11.1 There is 3% cashback on purchases
(not not cash advances, money transfers, balance transfers, interest, charges, etc - see 11.2)

    As the letter says:

"You do not need to take any further action in respect of these changes"

So are the accounts staying open? Are we all getting 3% again w.e.f. 01 April 2014?
Perhaps I should write to them and ask? Fortunately there is another avenue to ask too as under term 9.3.2 you can now also contact the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA).

Anyone else got these new terms & conditions?

I got exactly the same letter and terms and conditions as you this morning, I didn't ask to change to new 0.5% card. I think I'll try to use it to see if it works, if it doesn't I do not understand the point of this letter?

I presume they will have some customers who don't pay their bills off in full so their credit agreements continue until the account is totally closed (rather than the card no longer being usable) so they have to notify them of the change of name of their parent company.

If you are receiving it, it probably means that your account hasn't yet fully closed - i.e. you are still waiting for the cheque etc.

    Regards
    Sunil

He he! Would be nice, wouldn't it, but I doubt it somehow!

Yes. Had a quick look through and filed them, but pretty-much ignored them since the card is now defunct.

Clearly some kind of booboo happened, and also the last four digits of the account number at the head of the letter are not the same as my account number.
