Is anybody else's account still showing a credit limit? I've read that most now show a zero credit limit (meaning cancelled) but mine is still showing my £1000 limit.

Online still says I've got a £500 limit, but my latest paper statement shows £0 available.

Yes, me too, have had no problems with Aqua: my only gripe was the low credit limit, but who could blame them for that, and that they were often offline.

But very happy with a free £100.

Yes the low credit limit was a bit irritating - I had to keep checking the balance to make sure I wasn't in danger of going over, but not really a big issue considering the nice cashback rate :)

I have to say, in contrast to others' experiences, my experience with Customer Services was excellent. OK, their system messed up the cashback calculation at the end, but it was all sorted quickly and amicably with no arguments, and the lady I spoke to was an absolute delight to deal with.

I've been very, very happy with Aqua, and would not hesitate to recommend them as a card provider.

... or is this an early April Fools joke by Aqua?

I thought Aqua decided to terminate my account according to the correspondence I received last year since I did not sign a new agreement. Indeed last week it was confirmed my balance was £0.00 and now I see on my online account (access appears to have returned) that the cashback due is credited to my account. I was also told last week I should be receiving a cheque this week.

So I was pleased when I got a letter from Aqua this morning, thinking it would be my lovely cheque.

No, it's new terms and conditions effective 01 April 2014.

Essentially it's to advise a change of name of the provider from Progressive Credit Ltd to NewDay Ltd (they are also changing their address w.e.f. 01 November 2014)

But as is usual, they use the opportunity to update a few other terms. I think the important ones for me are:

    8. The agreement has no fixed or minimum duration.

17.2 They can end the agreement with 2 months notice, but also immediately requiring full refund for a breach of terms. e.g. you miss a payment.

17.4 They can end the agreement with 2 months notice if you don't regularly use the card
(so no more earning £100 cashback in first week and putting card in drawer for next 51 weeks)

22.2 Statements will be electonic ... but you can choose to receive paper ones via the settings on your online account
    (anyone know where this is?)

and perhaps the most important one:

11.1 There is 3% cashback on purchases
(not not cash advances, money transfers, balance transfers, interest, charges, etc - see 11.2)

    As the letter says:

"You do not need to take any further action in respect of these changes"

So are the accounts staying open? Are we all getting 3% again w.e.f. 01 April 2014?
Perhaps I should write to them and ask? Fortunately there is another avenue to ask too as under term 9.3.2 you can now also contact the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA).

Anyone else got these new terms & conditions?
  • ... Not much point in talking to Customer Services as they dont seem to know or care what is going on. ...

How do you know unless you have spoken to them?

When I spoke to them last week the first answer they gave was the those due a refund should be receiving their cheques this week ... although that wasn't the answer to the question I asked them.

Yes, along with an incorrect account ending number (as is OH's letter for his Aqua card).

Oh, I never checked that. :o

But yes, mine's also got an incorrect account ending number.

Could this be a new account they have opened for us w.e.f. 01 April 2014 giving us 3% cashback on purchases?
Wouldn't they need a new agreement from me to open a new account?
  • That would be just my luck that they 'closed' the accounts to flush a load of us out and then rewarded those who stayed loyal to them with 3% again :rotfl:

Could be right, or they're useless!

Don't know about a new agreement though.

And we're all sat here expecting cheques?:rotfl:

But I didn't elect to stay with them following their notice of intended termination of the agreement w.e.f 22 January 2014.
