    One thing I really like about Amex is that by default they have cash advances and cash like transactions turned off. This means it just declines the transaction. Although you won't find Amex accepted on these websites anyway as Amex has banned gambling transactions (In my opinon rightfully so, its asking for trouble allowing credit cards for gambling. In this case I understand it as you just wanted cash back).

    I have had my Aqua credit card since last August and until now everything was fine. However, my latest statement showed previous cashback £89.78 (this is correct) and closing balance this month £444.22 but cash back only £9.71 (roughly 2%), and total cashback earned £99.49. I appreciate the maximum cashback is £100 per annum, but I would expect my cashback to date to show as £100. I have emailed Aqua and am awaiting their reply.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    Having posted 2 queries on their web site re the above problem, both of which acknowledged my query, and promising to get back to me within 2 working days, and having heard nothing, I decided to ring them. One ploy they use is to extend the length of the call by forcing you to listen to a message explaining how you can benefit from the web site, followed by 9 options - guess which one is to speak to someone? yes, you've guessed it, number 9, so it took around 2 minutes to actually speak to someone. My 'phone call lasted 29 minutes, much of which was either repeating things to the person I spoke to, or being put on hold while he conferred with someone else. He eventually told me that I was through to the wrong department to answer my question!!! I then asked to speak to someone who could answer my question. He then spoke to the complaints dept, who said they had no record of my enquiry, despite both times the web site had acknowledged my query and promised to get back to me within 2 days!!! I now have a reference number and a promise that the complaints dept will get back to me within a couple of days. Only time will tell!!

    I won't hold my breathe expecting them to reply to my similar query then. 99.30 on previous statment, net spend £54.04. Cashback earned 12p. It seems to be something to do with being close to the £100 cut off but who knows what. My theory may be that mine went to £100, was capped there, then I returned a few things for a refund and these triggered some of the cashback to be removed bringing it back down to only 12p increase.
    I think....

    I've received two things from Aqua yesterday. One is my new statement, and one is a letter responding to my online enquiry.

    It says this:
    Thank you for your recent email dated 8 July 2013 concerning your aqua account.

    I'm writing to you in regards to the direct debit payment due 5 July 2013. There are three transactions showing on your account where you have made a payment to us:

    * 18/06/2013 - £
    * 09/07/2013 - £
    * 14/07/2013 - £

    Your ongoing direct debit with us has not been taken due to the above payments, however it will continue as normal next month as long as no payments are made around the date of your direct debit.

    My statement date has been the 17th lately (it used to be the 16th in the beginning). The payment I made on the 18th was greater than the statement balance.

    I guess this kind of confirms that DDs are affected by payments.

    Has anybody paid a reduced balanced over DD due to early payments, or are we all spending our Aqua credit limits several times a month? :)

    My DD was reduced to take into account payments I had made between the statement date and the due date. I presume this will be the same for everyone.

    I had only few Pounds owing from last statement. £100 cashback came through. Quite rightly, Aqua did not take any DD payments this month.

    That sounds bad, because they say cashback doesn't count towards your minimum payment - according to their terms anyway; the computer may have other ideas.

    If it covers the whole balance though, they'll be nothing to pay.

    This is what I'd have thought.

    It may be worth pinging £5 over (or your minimum payment), just to be on the safe side, unless the statement confirms otherwise.

    But if minimum payment is £0 is not a problem.

    I'd suggest it's easier to read what the statement says.
