Same problem here with direct debit. Set up on account for minimum payment as i normally make a manual payment as well. No direct debit taken, so i made a card payment to cover it. Hope this doesn't affect my credit report or future cashback.

I have had my Aqua credit card since last August and until now everything was fine. However, my latest statement showed previous cashback £89.78 (this is correct) and closing balance this month £444.22 but cash back only £9.71 (roughly 2%), and total cashback earned £99.49. I appreciate the maximum cashback is £100 per annum, but I would expect my cashback to date to show as £100. I have emailed Aqua and am awaiting their reply.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yup - statement received today - cashback on previous statement 99.30. Spending this month £128, cashback after statement 99.42 - ie 12p cashback earned on 128 spend...3%?!

Please let us know their response to your enquiry.

but they conformed that the direct debit of £16.15 was due to go out on 19th and not to worry about it.
I wouldn't have believed a word of that if they'd crossed their hearts and hoped to die.

They'd have been in breach of the DD scheme rules if they'd taken a DD after sending you a statement which implied that they wouldn't. The computer knows that even if the call centre staff don't.

  • Aqua is a strange one.

When I hit 6 months I requested an increase on my existing £250 limit, which was quickly declined as "Aqua is a responsible lender"

Yet last week I applied for one of their classic cards (for a £20 Amazon voucher) which I was accepted for.

My DD is due out on Monday so I will see if it is taken or not after reading some of the problems on here.

Anyone knows if we'll still get 3% cash back after first 12 months ? Or the card goes back to ''normall'' ?

    Aqua - £100.00
    Aqua 2 - £100.00

The cashback goes on indefinitely. But I'm just a random guy on the internet, so don't trust me. Check the terms of your agreement.

Where does it say it is only for 12 months? What is "normal"?

My new format statement, which I got Friday I think, shows:

    Previous cashback eraned
    Cashback earned this month
    Total cashback earned

The cashback earned this month is 3% of the new transactions & charges amount, rounded up to the nearest penny.
(All my transactions were retail purchases, except the payment made for last month. There were no charges.)

I'm not close to the £100 limt yet. Perhaps that is what is causing your issues?

I haven't used my card in a while since I reached the limit of £100 but I've just gone past the anniversary and pleasingly been credited the £100.

On the new online account, it talks about paperless statements at the bottom of each statement page, but I can't find an option to go paperless. Am I missing something? Also can you see your current cashback total online, or do you have to wait until a paper statement?

I have never seen cashbacks online and had to wait for paper statements which does.
For that reason, I haven't gone paperless with Aqua.
