Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

It is amazing how useless Aqua customer service is. I was told twice I will receive my cashback on 18/08 and I received it almost month earlier. They charged me interest which they should not - they refunded me twice by mistake. Now they charged my wife's card £12 interest for no reason. She called them and they admitted it is a mistake. What a useless bunch!
How is that bad customer service? It's bad that it's gone wrong in the first place (probably by computer), but to sort the problem and refund it each time is surely good customer service?0 -
Good thing this DD isn't one of the two I get taken out of Halifax Reward in order to get my reward...
Then if for some reason the DD should fail, my interest-free period is covered, and for Reward purposes I've got the rest of the month to trigger an alternative DD.
The games we have to play."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
The plot thickens...
The other half had her paper statement through last night, after having 4 months of statements saying 'total cashback earned £100' (AND having spent over £200 on the card since then), but the new statement says this:
Previous cashback earned: £100
Cashback this month: -£0.51 !!!!
Total cashback earned: £99.49
And it has therefore been rounded down to £95 in the cashback payment!
She phoned Aqua and spoke to a woman who might as well have been a computer, who simply kept repeating that she had only earned £99.49 and didn't seem to want to answer why we had April, May and June statements saying £100 earned, and that the 'previous cashback earned' on the July statement was also £100. She acknowledged that you can't earn minus cashback in a month, but then insisted that it was right (because that's what the system shows!).
Was hoping to get it sorted with a simple phone call / email but it looks like it will have to be the formal complaint route
Checked the online recent transactions today and a £5 'goodwill gesture' has been added, so back up to £100 earned again. Still don't really understand how it happened (I don't think they do either TBH) but at least they sorted it in the end, albeit after having to pass it onto the management.0 -

Right above the main list of threads in a particular section, you will see a big blue button that says 'new thread'. Try that0

Hi not a reply ,but info for you comments and views.
I recommended a friend to apply for the Aqua card that pays 3%, but friend was told that Aqua no longer have that account. I telephoned them and asked about orriginal customers with that account and if they were still going to get the 3% and was told NO. I have £95 cash back so will spend that amount and not use the card anymore. What do others think?0 -
They have not informed me of any changes to terms and conditions.
If you still have a card though, the way to tell is on your 13th statement.
It should tell you on there whether you are earning cashback or not in year 2.
I don't believe you've been given the right information, but if they don't inform us then I can assure you we will all be investigating whether they've breached their terms and conditions.
Unfortunately these days you only get to talk to call center operators and not subject matter experts any more. It's the way of the world.0 -

Going on past experience of the Aqua call centre staff, they were almost certainly giving you the wrong information.
Someone posted last week that they have started accruing interest on their 2nd year and it shows on their 13th statement.0 -
