This what it says on my copy of the Credit Card Agreement Regulated by the Consumer credit Act 1974 on to which were stuck my Aqua cards received on 16 July 2012:

"11.8 We may change any aspect of our cashback program including the cashback types which can earn cashback, the amount of cashback payable on transactions, the minimum and maximum amounts of cashback payable as well as withdrawing the program entirely. We can do this by giving you 30 days notice. We will only do this if we have a valid reason for making the change which includes responding to:
    a. changes in the way you use your account, or
    b. changes in our funding costs or the other costs of administering your account for the cashback program."

Are these the T&C's you are referring to?

What would happen to any cashback already on the account if this did happen? I assume they would have to pay out anything earned up to the date 30 days from the notice letter?

I'll leave others to speculate on that one. Who knows?

Going on past experience of the Aqua call centre staff, they were almost certainly giving you the wrong information.

But only one page before you were asking me why I wrote that their customer service is rubbish, based on what I wrote. The fact that they do not know where to check when cashback will be paid, means they are completely useless. And believe me - they were struggling to find that information. Plus some of them gave me different info than others. I spoke with them on 6-7 different occasions.

Same thing for me. My limit (£250 at the time) wasn't increased automatically after 6 months. So I had sent them a message through the online banking and I saw my limit went up to £350 a week later. I didn't receive any thing advising me that my credit limit has been changed.

How long do I have to wait to ask for an increase again?
After the first two months, I asked for an increase and was told that I have to wait for 6 months. I kept asking every month and they put it up to £650. :)
Since you had your card for 6 months, I suggest you ask them to increase your limit. Good Luck!

    And your point is?

I asked why it was bad customer service in your particular case, as you had a problem (which was probably caused by a computer) and they quickly solved it. As you say, it was 'based on what you wrote'.

I didn't mention my overall view of their customer service in that post. Overall my experience of their call center staff is not good, but their general customer service is ok once you speak to someone who knows what they are doing.

Also you said that you had spoken to them 2 times, not 6-7. If it was 6-7 then I wouldn't have said that it was good.

Quick question, sorry if someone has already asked!

I just recieved my £100 cashback and I know that some people have reported that Aqua now modify your direct debit if you make a payment before the due date. As my direct debit is set up to pay the full amount do you think it will now be modified to pay £100 less due to the cashback credit?? I know the cashback doesnt count towards the minimum payment but my payment this month was a lot more than minimum and would still have more to pay even if they did take into account the £100.

If you do have debits, then the £100 will be used to reduce/clear the debit.

When I received mine I had £32 debit, the £100 was credited and my £100 had decreased to £68.

My statement dates are 17th of the month, the £100 was applied on 19th of the following month.

Sorry I forgot to add my statement has already been issued and my direct debit is due to come out in about 2 weeks time.

If the statement has already been issued, then it is my understanding that the whole DD amount will be taken, has the £100 put you in credit?

As mine had been issued the £100 put me in extra credit, (on top of my normal), for the next statement, then the £32 taken off for purchases since statement date leaving me with £68 more than my credit limit.
