With an attitude like yours, no wonder so many firms get away with ripping people off!!
and it's people like you that make companies like Aqua think "It's not worth the hassle" and drop the cash back altogether.
They played by the T&Cs you agreed to, if you don't like the T&Cs, then find another card. Simple.and you should learn to spell!! Truly does not have an e in it.
Says the person who uses 'apologize' where the correct spelling outside of North America is 'apologise'.0 -

They aren't abiding by the T&Cs - that is the reason I have been in touch with the Ombudsman. I have spent way over the amount required to earn £100 cashback and yet they have only paid £95. Simple0 -
I have just double checked my cashback and notice I was given £75 although my statement indicates my true cashback was £79.97. It is actually quite difficult to calculate the cashback as I also made payments on my card but when I returned the goods the money was returned direct to my bank. I also received a repayment back on to my card but after the cashback was awarded so I wonder if that will mean I am in a minus cashback next month. At the end of the day 3% is very good so I am happy to accept the slight cashback adjustment.0

Well done ronin93 for taking a stance and good luck!
More people such as you are needed to deter unscrupulous comapnies from ripping off customers.I have just reported Aqua to the Financial Ombudsman. The reason I did not receive cashback up to £100 is that just before my statement date I received a credit for £16.99 (3% is £0.51). I had hit the £100 earlier in the month so all purchases after that (over £70 worth) were ignored, but the credit then reduced my £100 by £0.51!! If I had received the credit before I hit £100 there would not be a problem. As it is I have only received £95 as they only pay multiples of £5. Their software is flawed (the timing of a credit should not affect total cashback) but Head Office, who have examined my case, refuse to admit it. I know it's only £5 but I am really annoyed by their attitude. Why could they not admit the error, apologize, and pay me the cashback to which I am entitled.0 -

I think you'll find that they weren't ripped off at all. Aqua were merely implementing the T&Cs the cardholder agreed to initially!0 -

You might have spent "Way over the amount required", but not in co-ordination with the T&Cs.
Lets put this in simple terms:
Spend £1000 on Item A, cash back £30
Spend £1000 on Item B, cash back £30
Spend £1000 on Item C, cash back £30
Spend £1000 on Item D, cash back £10
Spend £1000 on Item E, cash back £0
Return item C
Total cash back earned: £70, not £100.0 -

If Aqua had abided by their T&Cs I would have no complaint.
The Ombudsman's office consider that I have a case.0 -

I have studied the T&Cs relating to cashback and there is nothing in it to support the calculations in your example. As far as I sam concerned the net amount spent is £4000 and therefore £100 should be payable.0 -
The whole point of my complaint is that they have NOT abided by their T&Cs. If they had I would have received £100 cashback as I have spent over £3444 during my first year, which is well over the £3333 needed to be spent to earn maximum cashback.!!! They paid me £95 which only requires £3170 to be spent.
If Aqua had abided by their T&Cs I would have no complaint.

I see your point Ronin and good luck with your complaint. Personally I'd think about how much time and effort I'd have to put into it and whether it's worth it for a fiver.0
