Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

Evening all. I understand from several of these posts that paying money to the Reward card doesn't lower the amount of cashback you gain. I mean by this that if you spend £200, pay £200 back and then spend another £100 you would gain cashback on the £300 spent, not the £100 that appears on the statement. Is anyone able to confirm that this is correct?
This is correct.
Comment unrelated to your question: The card is no longer available to new applicants (using the direct link to the application page no longer works).0 -
Yes, you get cashback on the spent amount, not on the statement balance.0

Yes I've just become aware that the card has gone, which is a shame. I've had one for 6 months and recommend it to most people. And as a student, this is probably one of the best cards I could get. I simply couldn't spend enough to get all the cashback, so I view it as 3% off everything
Small limit does become annoying when you want to book a hotel for a week in Europe however...0 -

Oh pooI wonder what this means for existing customers? I'm due a £100 payout in July and was looking forward to collecting more cash back throughout this year...bet they withdraw the offer!

..... as soon as they do, my card is gone!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

I think many people will cancel the card once its announced. perhaps thats why they are increasing the credit limit on current customers trying to keep them. I believe they won't cancel the cashback entirely but will reduce it from the 3%.0

Surely you lose the cashback of you cancel the card though?0

Glad I have racked mine to the full cashback then and applied for one for the missus 4 weeks back, already on £12 cashback on her card.
Agree with others, when the cashback goes, I go! Limit was just increased on mine from £500 to £12000 -

Not if you wait until after you've withdrawn it :-)
