Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

I have decided to buy £200 in gift vouchers from one of their shops (pay off with faster payments) and then pay by combination of voucher and Aqua card online. Do you see any holes in that one?
I'd visit http://www.morrisonsfuelsaver.co.uk/ first to see if your store appears there. If so, buy the vouchers from their and (assuming you drive), get cheap fuel!I am right in thinking 3% cashback is worth more than the tesco clubcard credit card even when I use the points on rewards worth 4x value
1 point per £4, so 0.25%. Even if you quadruple that, it would be 1%. So Aqua is definitely better.0 -
I've got my pin and some 'changes' through, but no card!
One of the changes is that money transfers will be treated as a purchase
rather than a cash advance - that says they'll benefit from the standard interest free period and pay no interest if statement is paid in full (as most on here presumably do with their extortionate rates!).
So technically on your credit report it shouldn't appear as a cash advance any more?? Thinking of requesting one the day after my statement is produced (so getting 52 odd days or whatever it is) when I'm abroad (and so won't be utilizing the credit limit anyway).
The problem is if it appears on a credit report all my other lenders will get scared. Has anyone done this? How 'new' is this? It says "since you made your application, some changes have been made...." - in the last week, really!?
Still no idea what my credit limit is, the 'assumed cost' is based on £1,200 but that seems to be standard across the board apart from on Student & very low credit cards where they'd never ever give out that amount so don't bother to use it!0 -

I got this letter, when applying for my card around one month ago, It took quite a while to get the card (Pin, then four days later this letter and then after about five more days the card).
I don't intend to use this service (I asked what it is) and the lady said it was when using websites such as Western Union to remit money abroad.
One thing that I do note about Aqua is the tiny payment length following statement issue date - it's quite a struggle, when you pay via cheque & Giro (thankfully my bank has lowered the timescale for this from 5 days to 3 days).Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -
Got my card today. £250 limit as I suspected - would like more, but come the summer I won't be regularly spending £200+ a month on petrol so it should be more than enough then, just got to be careful now!
Think they said my statement was produced on the 22nd. Payment for that is due in about 10 days I believe - like you say, very short timescales! To be fair to them, they did ask without me prompting if I want to do a direct debit for minimum/fixed amount/fixed percentage or full. Guy was very friendly. Had a nice chat about my job too as he saw I hadn't got anything listed (!!) and then realised I worked in a bank - so must've clicked I'm using it purely for cashback!
They also made it clear about the cashback t&cs etc. Very scripted (of course) but good of them, get the feeling some companies would like to try and sweep it under the carpet etc.
Applied online for my friend just now, who got instantly accepted, purely for cashback & credit building. Estimated credit limit of £250 too, not bad - will be interesting to see what interest rate they apply to that account.0 -
I have just set up a payment from my bank account and noticed that Aqua have the same sort code and account code as the Halifax. I know that Halifax administer the service but you would at least expect the two companies to have separate account codes and not merge all the funds in one?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

It's just a central holding account, kind of like a BS which uses the same SC and A/C for savings accounts. Your account is identified by the reference field.0 -
Evening all. I understand from several of these posts that paying money to the Reward card doesn't lower the amount of cashback you gain. I mean by this that if you spend £200, pay £200 back and then spend another £100 you would gain cashback on the £300 spent, not the £100 that appears on the statement. Is anyone able to confirm that this is correct?0
