That's seems to be the common theme, about 8 days plus to get a response to say it's passed on. As @steveksullivan said, my external went well but I'm apprehensive about admin work in the future. I blame it on the Clydesdale takeover, they were never like this before and I noticed it very soon afterwards on calls. I just haven't had to experience any changes / transfer until now so it has spread. 🥺intalex said:
I also followed the suggested steps (sent secure message) to request an internal transfer with Virgin, received a reply 8 days later saying it has been passed on to the ISA team, absolutely no timescales. They really should have programmed this sort of thing on online banking together with their 14 day cooling off period, this manual processing is a real bottleneck!steveksullivan said:.....errr ...... I couldnt quote you on any RECENT external transfers to Virgin for myself .... but so far I have waited three weeks for them to do an INTERNAL transfer ..... see higher up on this thread. However for balance - @savit4l8er did report on 5th November that his external transfer in was complete in 2 days.....intalex said:

Charter are offering a 1yr fix at 3.9% now, don't know if already mentioned. Interesting that the ISA fixes seem to be going up while the standard fixes are dropping like a stone..1

Makes sense if you think the reason for ISAs being lower is that you usually have the right to break with a penalty - bad for the bank if rates go up they can't rely on your deposit the way they can with a fix. So ISA rates should be less competitive as rates are going up, and become more competitive as they go down.

The 5 year 5.05 fix at the Cumbria is nice with a very respectable 180 day penalty but have to live near. Be nice if someone matched or got close to it as a overall package. 🤞Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes, thank you and no.

Hope so too, but I also hope they wait bit longer to release something this good, as my funds are stuck in a timeless transit between 2 Virgin ISAssavit4l8er said:The 5 year 5.05 fix at the Cumbria is nice with a very respectable 180 day penalty but have to live near. You will receive a letter confirming the account is open. It reads all funds must be received within 30 days of opening. No mention of "or if the account is oversubscribed and withdrawn" by that time which may be before 30 days.benny5 said:
