I don't believe it's out of altruism, more so they had to do it to prevent £ millions escaping. As it happens, it couldn't have come at a better time for those with maturing accounts, especially if you caught it at the back end or you were within the 14 day period at that point. I think anyone who stayed with them at the above rates should feel pretty good. They have been receiving a good rate term for term and the others deals have not caught up. To have potentially done better, there will need to be reasonable increase in savings rates and who knows if that will happen now?Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes, thank you and no.
Thank you.1 -

One hell of an echo 'round here... their current 1 and 2 year Fixed Rate ISAs (for members with existing, maturing or matured Fixed Rate ISAs only) are currently 4 and 4.5% ...

4.65% on 2/3/5 year fixed ISAs from State Bank of India: https://sbiuk.statebank/cash-isa-fixed-deposit-account
Edit: Just looked a bit further into the account opening process. Moneyfacts says they can be opened online/in post/in person, but SBoI's website says an application form has to be downloaded and then taken into branch (can't even be posted!). So possibly not that great unless you live near one of their branches.2 -

Saga has also increased their easy access ISA to 2.5%. It doesn't accept transfers in either.1

Saga and Marcus are the same thing. Saga is just a rebadged version.
