My own home (and maybe business) before I'm 30 - Ghostmadlittlemiss' DFW diary

Hi,
Well, I didn't get the Money Shop job, they never rang me back. Also, the DVLA still have my licence. This is getting very irritating as work keep asking to see it so they can input the details onto their new computer system. Thankfully, they've found a way to clock me on each day without it so I can still work in the meantime.
I get paid on Fri! :j I'm panicking atm that there won't be enough to cover all the bills as I had a week off this month with the gearbox but we'll see. My OH has also agreed to buy me the starter pack for my new project as an early birthday present! :j :j :j (My birthday's on the 30th, if anyone cares :rotfl: ) I still don't want to tell anyone about it until the pack's actually in my hands though, it still doesn't feel real just yet. So I'm ordering it on Fri when I'm back inside my overdraft as a ton of charges have knocked me past it () so I should be able to tell you all about it some time next week.
Work's going ok atm, still a bit quiet as the students are at home but I know it'll pick up next month. I had a deal on with my OH last week that if I could get 27 hours in at work, I wouldn't have to do any washing up this week and I managed it! :j We've got the same deal set for this week so hopefully, I'll be able to pull it off again. The extra money certainly won't hurt either.
Not too much progress on the DFW front since my last post, I've just been trying to get by on the money I've got until payday. My CC bill's due to arrive any day now so we can see what the new minimum payment is and how much I can overpay this month. The stuff I'm selling on Ebay isn't going for very much but it's helping me declutter, slowly but surely. I'm not sure things are getting any easier just yet but at least they're moving.

Hi,
No, there isn't enough to cover all the bills.
I'm hoping the money back from the deposit (whenever the h*ll we get it ) will cover what I'm short but I'm not sure just yet.
On the bright side, thanks to my wonderful OH, my project starter pack is now paid for. :j I'm just waiting to hear back from the company now. I keep checking my e-mails every 5 mins, I'm like a little kid at Xmas!
I'm hoping I haven't hyped this project up so much that anyone reading is disappointed when they find out what it is. I can't wait until the pack is in my hands and I can start talking about it! I'm so excited, can you tell? :rotfl:

I've got my driver's licence back! :j After all that, I don't think I'll be opening a new main bank account just yet though I may still open one for my project. My O/D is still interest free for the next year and I'm not really in a position to have all my D/Ds transferred as it takes about a month to do and I wouldn't be sure which account the payments would come out of until it happened so I'd need enough money in both of them. So I'm just going to concentrate on the other debts for the time being.
As you can see, my Wonga debt has reduced. :jI'll be glad when that's out of the way, it's a huge amount to be paying every month on my wages. My CC bill seems to be a little later than normal in arriving, I might have to chase that up if it's not here in the next week. I want to know how much it'll be for this month.
I'm also counting down the days until I get to visit my family for a few weeks later on this month. By the time I get back from that holiday, the students should be back in Bath again and work will get a lot busier, which means more hours and more money.
I'm hoping the struggle will get a little easier then.
I contacted the lady who suggested my project to me and she said I should get an e-mail on Mon about it as the website doesn't always update in real time when new people join which apparently, is one of many reason they're redesigning the site soon. I've seen it and although it works just fine, a redesign wouldn't hurt as it is a bit crowded.
So that's it really. Just more plodding along, trying not to go insane(r) from the general stress of life, and waiting the e-mail on Mon, Sept when work gets busier and the start of Oct when the minimum wage goes up. Hey, I told you my life wasn't exciting at the start.

Hi,
My CC has bill finally arrived, the minimum payment was £24.58 so I've paid £25 towards it for now and updated my signature to take into account last month's payments.
The starter pack for my project/business is now in the post so I should receive it any day now. I'm really tempted to just tell you what it is now but I'm going to attempt to teach myself some self control and actually wait until when I said I'd announce it, which is when I actually have the starter pack in my hands. So I guess you'll all have to wait a bit longer then.

Hi,
Well, the pack's been here a little while now so I'm not sure why I've been holding back. Nerves, I think. I'm worried I've hyped it up too much and you're all going to laugh at me. Which I know isn't the case but I'm still worried. Anyway, here goes.
The project I've been hinting at for the last few weeks is a business called Wikaniko. Basically, it involves selling eco-friendly products from home, through catalogues, craft fairs, promoting the website, ect, and if you want to, building a team of other distributors doing the same. Think Kleeneze but green. Also, with less market saturation and better priced products (if I do say so myself
).
I've actually got my first sale this morning! :j I plucked up my courage yesterday and dropped a catalogue off with my slightly insane neighbour across the hall and she's ordered some multi-vitamins. Admittedly, the profit from her order doesn't quite cover the postage cost but the OH was talking about us getting some household stuff (toilet cleaner, hand soap, bin bags, ect) at the wholesale rate that distributors buy at so I'm pretty sure I can get him to pay for that stuff and go halves on the postage with me. That way, the profit will cover it. He was going to pay for the household things anyway, it's just the postage I need to ask him about.
I'm really nervous about the project/business but also really excited. :j I've got some leads I need to chase up on today for people who answered an ad wanting to be distributors so we'll see how that goes. Wish me luck, you guys.

Hi,
Well, from the 4 leads I called earlier, I got 2 voicemails, 1 unknown number and one moron who didn't read the ad. From what I was told though is that when it comes to prospecting, only 1 in 5 people will actually be worthwhile. So I'm not put off by today, it was a start and getting started is the hardest bit.
Kayleigh0 -
I just called the 2 voicemails again and have sent info packs to both. The first was a very enthusiastic sounding man who I'm not 100% sure had read the ad properly but I'm not writing him off as he certainly seemed to be looking for something. The second was a woman who definitely did read the ad and who I had a good feeling about ever since I saw her name. Now, let's just hope I don't muck up the follow up calls. One tomorrow (the man) and one Thurs (the woman). Wish me luck!
Kayleigh0 -
Enthusiastic dude has found a job but will call me back next week (I think that's what he said anyway, slightly strong accent). And the woman went to voicemail so I left a message and will try again later. I'm just running into town with the cheque for the deposit (finally back :j) so this is just a quick message to keep everyone up to date.
Kayleigh0 -
I got an e-mail off the woman who I'd left a message with earlier saying she's interested and she'll call tomorrow to discuss it more. :j So providing that I don't muck it up, she might well be my first team member! :j :j :j
